I know how that feels. It's also very scary to have a really bad pain in a

place that has never really bothered you before. I went shopping with my

daughter and while we were driving across the street, my neck suddenly snapped

and started hurting so very badly...I was actually afraid to move my head

because I thought my neck had broken. I was in a panic. My daughter was

too...she kept saying, I didn't hit anything, it's not whiplash. I took my

muscle relaxer, pain pill, and anti-anxiety, we arrived at the next store, and I

was able to go in. Returning to the car, I suddenly felt like I had been shot

in my back...I screamed and fell over the hood of the car. (Good old So. Cal.

No one stopped to see if I was alright. Anyway, it was very embarrassing to

scream in the parking lot.)In the past few weeks I've had new pain in several

places...my neck, my head, my chest, and that new area of my back.

But what I wanted to know was...what is this self help course about...Is it any

good? How did you hear about it?

My hubby found a book in the garage called " Foods That Fight Pain " , we've had it

a while but I haven't read it. I also wanted the book by Dr. Wallace that was

talked about a couple weeks ago here, but my hubby bought me one he wanted,

called What Your Dr. May NOT Tell You About Fibro...or something like that.

Anyway, I'll have to look at the Food book to see if it has anything about what

to avoid.

p.s. I just saw your name...carmen niemi...my mother had cousins by the name

of niemi...not a very common name. Is it your name?

" carmen.niemi " wrote: I would

also be very interestedif someone knew of a list of food

triggers for fibro... I will also take a lookon the web.

I have had the worst 2 weeks of my life. My husband had to take me to

the ER on the 23rd at 6:00 am as I woke up screaming in pain and could

not move my right leg at all without the worst pain of my life. The ER

doctor gave me proper pain medication and it made me realize how little

my family doctor was doing to help me manage my pain. What a life to

deal with, I am 36 years old and feel like I am in the body of a 90

year old. :( On a positivce note, I am taking the self help course

offered through http://www.cfidsselfhelp.org/welcome.htm

Gentle Hugs to everyone!
