Lessons from past greats (ie. FDR & polio)

I just finished watching " Warm Springs " a 2005 movie about lin

Delano Roosevelt in the decade prior to his first term (of 3!) as US

president as he battled the effects of polio. Not much has necessarily

changed, in that sick folks, people in rehab, and diseases we know

little about still scare people, esp those who are healthy or

untouched by the disease.

FDR, like many of us have expresses, struggled with his own grief for

the life he once knew, demonstrated his own reservations & courage in

his willingness to experiment w/various treatments, and determination

in the face of all the social, political and foolishness of people who

do not know how to behave in the presence of something they do not

understand.

It's not a bad movie or attitude to be reminded of from time to time.

Happy holidays, everyone.
