Guest guest
just woke up as I sat here. He came into the room and looked awful. I said, " How are you feeling? " I was looking for 'sick', or 'fine', or 'good', or something like that. " I feel.... " he said. " I starting to feel... " he said. " I starting to feel... " he said. " I starting to feel... " he said. " I starting to feel...disappointed about myself. " he said. I grabbed him and hugged him. " WHY? " " Because I'm in a bad mood. " .................................................................................\ .... Of course, since I started this post, he has cheered considerably and is romping around his room naked and rooting through his dresser for school clothes. <sigh> He doesn't even let me finish reacting to things before he changes the game!!! Of course, I rather get the sense that Putter is not ever disappointed in himself, and he is virtually never in a bad mood. So perhaps he would say he was pleased with himself and in a good mood. ............................................................................. ........ > Of course, since I started this post, he has cheered considerably and is romping around his room naked and rooting through his dresser for school clothes. > > <sigh> He doesn't even let me finish reacting to things before he changes the game!!! I do not think he recognizes those more subtle emotions yet, or he is not yet able to identify them. Even would not be so insightful I do not think. Maybe, but I do not think so. That is quite a feat for .

'Disappointed about myself' is a pretty big self-insight, especially for a person who can't even tell when he's hungry most of the time. I'm figuring it must be a line he picked up from somewhere, maybe TV, someone saying " i'm disappointed in you/myself " in a serious and bad-mood kind of situation, and just plucked it out of the mighty recesses of his memory this morning and found that it sort of fit how glum he felt. I think perhaps this was the most awe-inspiring echolalia I've ever seen! Jacquie
Guest guest
telling my mother about 's 'disappointed' line and telling me he was in a bad mood, and then how minutes later he was bouncing around all 'la la la I'm getting dressed isn't this fun, " and my mom said.... " Well, doesn't that sound bipolar as all get-out? I remember when you... " and she launched into a me and bipolar anecdote. <sigh> Jacquie
