We might have high blood levels of vitamin A temporarily after an ingestion of high A? Gives a good result but then what about the zinc that helps release the A from the liver once it has stored there? At some point, to continue in my completeley unfounded, top-of-my-head theory on this, you'd give yourself vitamin A toxicity (from build up in the liver) because your serum test might reveal low A, but your liver is full of it but it is not able to be utilised because of a zinc deficiency or metabolic error involving zinc? Of course, if you had adequate zinc you might avoid this situation. Okay, i'm just thinking as I type here, so please correct me!
