I would keep an eye out on her fruit and ride it out. If the anti's

are not working, you really have no other choice. Don't forget to

wear your seatbelt 'cause its going to be a rough one!

Shall we hang in till her body recovers with the diet or there is

something that I need to look into to help her?

Elena,

Check in the section marked " files " at the homepage for this group...... there

is a carrot juice and garlic recipe that is excellent for yeast. One of our very

experienced SCD moms says it's the best anti-fungal she's ever used.

Patti, mom to Katera, SCD 17 months

chelation

I've started SCD with my almost 5y.o.daughte right after I came back

from the conference. She did great. A week ago we started TD-DMPS.

Progress is unbelievable, but yest is out of control. I don't think

adding medication will do anything, becouse we've tried Nystatin

(4months), Diflucan (1month) result is 0. Diet is the way to go, but

what to do now. Shall we hang in till her body recovers with the diet

or there is something that I need to look into to help her? Any ideas?

Thanks

Elena

Interesting letters from Binstock et al.

It seems to me that people don't understand the differing mechanisms of the

two diets.

GF/CF eliminates the peptides that leak through gut and act as opioids, so

some children are much more " clear-headed " when they are not drugged by the

peptides. But as I understand it, GF/CF does nothing to heal the holes in

the gut. GF/CF is more like symptomatic treatment.

SCD, on the other hand, works to actually heal those holes, as well as

general gut healing through re-establishment of proper gut-bug mix, all of

that resulting in better absorption and thus better nutrition overall.

It just seems so obvious to me that some children would benefit to a degree

from GF/CF if they had been drugged by the peptides, but that all of those

children and many more would benefit by healing the holes in the first place

(SCD).

A really simple analogy: GF/CF is like removing the tea from a tea bag with

a hole in it. SCD is like sewing up the hole. :-)

Anybody else share my understanding of this?
