Yes it does lower your sex drive!! I'm the same was as you, but I really don't see my breasts as anything sexual anymore, I just see sex as bothersome and something I must do to make DH happy (which doesn't always make for a happy household) > Besides that I am just too tired and want to sleep! No suggestions really, just make sure you find some time for YOU once in a while, it can do a world of good...even just a bath at night with NO INTURUPTIONS! Good luck, hope it all works out for yak! Guest guest
Tereson, That is part of the natural process of child spacing. It does have to do with hormones and also how much sleep you are getting. I am not sure what kind of advice to give you as I don't have much sex drive while nursing. Getting plenty of nutrition helps. I still take my prenatal vitamins and try to supplement myself with B vitamins and vitamin E. This seems to help keep me feeling my best. I also think I remember you have a high-need baby. If not I am sorry but if so than that will have an impact in itself. Being all " touched-out " from a high need baby makes it less desirable to think about your partner in a sensual way. I know I have been there. My first child is extremely high-need and it took a lot longer for my sex drive to return. It didn't get any better when I weaned her at a year, like I thought it would. With my son he is much less high-need and he sleeps pretty well. We are still nursing, he's almost two, and my sex drive seems to be returning much faster than with my daughter. For me it also has to do with how I am feeling about myself. I wasn't feeling too great when my high need daughter was a baby. I felt like I could barely please her let alone anyone else. Just my .02 hope this helps. Wendi http://www.lactivist.com breastfeeding info Sex and BF I have to say I am a little embarrased bringing this up but don't know who else to ask. Guest guest
Robin, The lubrication thing is related to hormones and does get better after weaning. Guest guest
Tereson and everyone, please do not laugh at me, but I must have had the total opposite of normal preg. They say when you are preg you want it all the time, also you don't have to worry about becoming preg. I on the otherhand was sick the whole nine months and did not want it at all. My DH was lucky to get anything once a month! But after I had (not right after about 5 wks) I found that I had my drive back! I told I am the opposite. Only now it is more uncomfortable..I know you all are experiencing it. You just need to wait until the baby has had her feedings and goes down for a nap or bedtime, take a relaxing bubble bath together that will get you in the right direction! Guest guest
Hello...With my first baby and now Dalton I have felt the same way. It is really hard for DH at times. I know that once I quit BF with #1 my old sex drive returned. With #2 and #3, I had a really strong desire for sex during pregnancy and when I was nursing. I am not sure what the difference was. I also know that with #1 when I was pregnant when ever we got really intimate, I would run to the bathroom and throw up!!! My DH was not impressed!! We laugh about it now but sure didn't back then. This time, we just did it for the first time a few weeks ago (she was born June 25th) and we haven't since. I'm not interested in the least. Its also because we now have 2 small children, the house is a wreck that I can't seem to keep up with, and I've gone back to work part time. Now we're supposed to " serve our masters " ? I have a 10 week old, an almost five year old and I keep two girls full time. Between the laundry, dishes, chasing kids I am lucky to get a shower everyday and I am breast feeding the baby. Yeah I feel like having sex...NOT! I want to sleep when I am in bed! He has no clue and I am sure if he did he wouldn't want sex all the time either.
