Guest guest
" Do you all make your own broth " Yes, and in great quantities. My freezer is well-stocked with it. In fact I am defreezing a bag of broth right now. Not only for soup, I also use it to add to sauces (the bolognese) and to all kinds of dishes that I pop into my oven. The taste is much more flavourful. " can I use Pacific Organic Vegetable Broth in the box " I wouldn't trust it at all. But I don't trust anything that comes out of a box or bag when it comes to food for my son. It is really so easy to make your own broth and to keep some in the freezer. Divide the broth over several smaller (ziplok) bags and put these in a bigger bag. Guest guest
Hi, > Do you all make your own broth? Yes. Broth needs to be homemade. I make it in large quantities and freeze in one cup portions. For chicken broth I save the skin of chicken that I cook without and also save up the bones when I bake a chicken. Another little money saver when barbequing chicken (legs, thighs etc.) I boil it for about twenty minutes and save that broth for other recipes. Boiling the chicken prevents flare-ups on the bbq and ensures more even grilling. > Just for a quick meal during intro > diet (like simmered chicken or meatballs) can I use Pacific Organic > Vegetable Broth in the box? Sorry, but all commercial broths are illegal. Sheila 43 mos SCD, 20 yrs UC mom of SCD 28 mos

This might be a dumb question, but then why are people posting regarding " legal " mustard and mayo and nut butters?? Nova
Guest guest
Nut butters, in jars, bought from the grocery store, are legal.....as long as salt is the only other ingredient. Elaine wasn't specific about that in this statement........ but we are not all making our own nut butters, I can assure you! Although you can if you want to. Regarding prepared mustard, here's what she has posted on her website (www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info) on the legal/illegal list: " Mustard is legal as long as it doesn't contain illegal ingredients; read the labels carefully. " For the most part, on the pre-made foods question, she is most concerned about the use of canned foods. She likes people to make their own mayo. There are lots of little nuances to learn about what is and isn't okay...... which is why this list is so important.
