Where did you hear that the cream only needs to be on for an hour? I thought

it was " the longer the better " ! I'd love to see some verification on this,

because our whole whole is permeated with the nasty smell!!

I have been told that the cream only needs to be on for an hour to be absorbed

so you could put it on late in the day and then give him a bath. With our son we

put it on in the morning and then give him a bath (just his body) in the morning

before school and then give him another bath at night and wash his hair. We

have learned to live with the smell so we apply before bed and just go through

the process again the next morning.

Apply the cream-- ttfd to one ankle and top of foot, and gsh to the

other. Put on the socks. Leave on for 30 minutes. Then wash off--

you do have to soap their ankles several times to get the residue

off. The child might have a mild sulfury smell to them but it

shouldn't be too bad once washed off.

As far as you applying it-- if you have any fillings you should not

be in contact with the ttfd with your bare hands, as a precaution.

So use a plastic baggie over your hand and rub it in with the plastic

sandwich baggie and just throw it away when you are done.

I am pretty sure that over on the CK2 board, that it was reported

that it could be on for 30 minutes and then washed off. You could

call the compounding pharmacy or search their archives over there.

It is hard to say. My son makes slow but steady progress. We have been

following the DAN protocol since January of this year (diet, supplaments,

secretin, antifungals, TTFD= Glutathiaone creams, b12 injections, colonoscopy

revealed active colitis so treatment for that, 5 rounds DMSA chelation) so it is

hard to say. We started the TTFD and glutathiane creams in June and 2 weeks

later began B12- seems to have made some cognitive gains- nothing miraculous but

there. Overall in that time people have said he seems more aware and

interactive with adults- not children. We also just got him to say " Hi " and

immitate a few vowel sounds and also his receptive language seems to be

improving as well (he turned 3 in April). The creams helped him to excrete some

metals butr small amount and no mercury till DMSA was added. Currently we apply

them 2x/day when not on DMSA.

Are you guys also following the DAN protocol and if so has it helped?

I don't believe it does chelate - other than money from your wallet.

I haven't used TTFD, but I have read that:

1. if you put it on the feet, put it on the tops of the feet where it

will better absorbed

2. don't apply it with bare hands if you have amalgams

Hi Mandy...Knew I could rely on you for an answer! Thanks for that.

Actually I never really went away...Just following Jean's protocol

quietly and practicing patience. I am on top of Biomed thanks to Jean

and Cian is calmer and more managable...all stuble of course. But my

big news is that I moved house.

I now live in the South in a little place called Buncrana. I got sick

and tired of lack of services, understanding, common sense in the

North. Cian is now eight. I have never had respite. He has never had

a school (other than myself and a few others rattling collection cans

to keep a little room in his local school open) Speech Therapy

(except10 weeks when he was 3) etc. etc. I just couldn't bare it any

longer. I was also exhausted fighting and advocating and getting

nowhere with no support. It was a new type of Ulster says 'No'!!

Anyway Cian is now in an autism specific learning centre in a main

stream school and he gets everything from one on one to reflexology.

(Ssssh don't tell anyone or there will be a mass exit from mainland

lol!)

Mandy it is fantastic. He is being treated as a person first and for

the first time in my life I am being offered help in a variety of

ways. Why Buncrana? Because of some fabulous parents here who worked

very hard to create awareness understanding and last but not least

facilities and education specific to autism. The whole community

embraces difference and I am just so happy to be now part of such a

beautiful and caring community.

Where would the children with Autism be with out Parent Power?

I don't have a computer yet but come here to the library so I will be

in touch more now.....I'll let you know how I get on with TTFD and

smelly feet!!!

Hope Sam is well

Best

Aileen

Apparently, adding in biotin takes away the smell of TTFD. I haven't added it yet, am just about to, so I'll let you know if it works (2 pairs of smelly feet here!)

Mandi, I'm really pleased you sent this because I'd forgot I was going to order it!! asked me to get the Biotin 8 at our last review, so I'll get that ordered and get back to you. Actually, with the stink bomb smell of TD-DMSA, the smell of TTFD almost goes un-noticed. I'm having to keep an eye on , as he's been going to the bathroom to wash off the 'stinky cream', and has been spraying him with perfume before she lets him in her room. I've given him a choice; stinky cream or stinky tablets, so he's opted, reluctantly, to put up with the stinky cream for now!

Adding in the biotin to reduce the smell of the TTFD was something I read by Dr Derrick Lonsdale a while ago. I'll have to add it in because has been complaining that she can taste it, which must be awful for her.

Thanks,

Diane
