My doctor sent me to a shrink who pronounced me to be sound as a dollar and very sensible and reminded me that doctors don't study nutrition very much. Medicines seem to have so many side effects. Just watch the TV commercials. My doctor has not been as much help for celiac as Elaine. But I respect that in a time of crisis I know I should and will turn to a mainstream medicine man or woman. And I know there are many dedicated doctors trying to help our autism kids. Given that, I'd still have more confidence in those who recognize Elaine's work with SCD. Carol F. It's grief: He needs anti-depressants and grief counseling. He's in control of you (i.e., bad parenting) . . . " And the best: When we started DAN treatments, the pediatrician told us we were being guinea pigs!!!!!!!! Oink!! (OK, I know guinea pigs don't oink . . . ) Alice Mama to , ASD, SCD 8 weeks and is doing super!!!! _____ Are there any adults out there with all these intestional problems who sought help with their doctors only to have their doctors tell them it was all in their heads?? Seems that when the doctors can't find an answer to your ills or do not want to follow up with other means to help you, they blame the health problems on the patient, menopause, anxiety, just being a " woman " . Guest guest
Do I ever understand the dilemma about being told you are " high- strung " ! I almost died of Crohn's before the doctors found it. I was told I just was stressed out and was put on anti-depressants for a while. That just made things worse! Everything from IBS, a cyst on ovary, appendicitis, psychosis. What people don't understand is, the pain and chronic illness affects your mind, NOT vice versa!!! Of course, continual stress and trauma do play a role, I believe, but overall, it is the illness in the gut causing all the other problems. Tina > No, but they did it for my son!! " He's just a boy.
