Guest guest
Ladies- Well, that was an experience! Everything went so smoothly, it was almost scary! After a long talk with , I sent my RE another long fax on Monday, reiterating all that I wanted to accomplish with the surgery, and my preferences if he found the need to resect. If you ever feel you 'forgot' to tell or ask your doc something...I recommend the fax method! That way I never have to say 'what if I had mentioned.... " It gave me great piece of mind. Anyway, back to my story...bottom line...I am a fused UD, the left uterus is smaller than the right, but RE thinks it would still be viable in pregnancy, but he did keep referring to the right side as the 'good' side. He said that there were two distinct uterine walls backed up against each other. With, surprise, no communication....yup, no hole. My RE said he wasn't sure what his partner thought he saw, but there was no perforation, no hole between the uteri. Good news. He liked the way my cervices looked, but the left one is all crammed up in there sideways - he didn't think that would increase odds of IC. Both tubes are clear, ovaries looked great. I had quite a few adheasions in the right uteri - which he fixed with the hysteroscope. He also found what he called " a little bit " of endo, which he cleaned up. I am thrilled that my OB didn't perforate my uteri and then not tell me about it, but I am glad it gave my RE a reason to do the lap/hyst. You ladies can imagine the weight that is lifted from my shoulders in knowing for certain that I am UD and not a complete SU bicollis. So many years of questions - and now I know for sure. I know my war is far from won, but boy do I feel like I won the battle! As far as recovery, they had to make 2 extra incisions (I assume to get the endo) but they are tiny. I am sore and suffering from the arm pain that comes with the carbon dioxide...but overall I am doing great (as long as I stay on the couch) He said I could go back to work Friday if I felt like it, but my boss said I wasn't allowed in the building until Monday. Since they didn't do any major construction or reconstruction, we can ttc after once cycle!!! As soon as I feel a bit better, I am going to go back through the posts and catch up with everyone..I got behind after my appointment on Thursday- I lost a little bit of my mind <grin>. I should have plenty of time to catch up in the next few days. :-) Thank you all for helping me get here...incisions or not, I feel great and I thank the ladies of the board for helping me find the knowledge to get the answers! Back to the couch I go! D Fused UD (for sure)
