The last person I knew who was arrested for DUI in Ohio went through the lin County program, and AA was not heavily emphasized. But this was in 1992, and things may have changed. It was sometime in the 1988-1990 era, so it would have been around the same time as your acquaintance. But it was a different county, of course, so that might explain the different experiences.
