Guest guest
Hi , Well, I don't *quite* have him in my arms yet, but I'm 38 weeks with my son after my septum resection, and my OB said there was no reason not to have a vaginal delivery. Also, my RE surgeon said the same. They said as long as the uterus was not puntured during the septum resection, cutting the septum itself has no effect on the uterine wall. I can't imagine why it would--it's just dead, non-muscular tissue they cut. Not the good, healthy tissue. So I'm planning a natural, vaginal delivery at a birth center with midwives, and my OB was fine with that too, as long as I stuck with her for monitoring until 32 weeks of pregnancy. I know, as well, that Heike had her post-resection baby vaginally just recently. I wouldn't want to presume anything, nor try to influence you, but you could always seek another opinion; and ask your surgeon who did the surgery as well. If you feel a c-section is right for you, then no problem, but if you desire a vaginal delivery, a little more questioning is totally your right. Good luck! Guest guest
I ended up with a c-section because my son was breech, but if he had been head-down, I would have delivered him vaginally. My RE, OB and the OB who did the c-section (different from my regular OB) all told me that I can do VBAC for my next pregnancy, provided the baby is not breech. I disagree with your doctor. Lots of our members here have had vaginal deliveries after septum resection. Heike, for instance, she has had 2 vaginal deliveries post resection.
