Lori,

Be happy with this, that is more than a pound a day! You will look back at

this as some of your fastest and best lost time during your journey.........For

the first few to six months you MIGHT lose like 5 pounds a week. But remember

you will have times when you dont lose, your body will pause and rest for a bit,

but you will go through all of this and you will know what Im talking

about........

Not even a month and down 25 lbs! You're doing great! The average is 20 lbs a

month. You're above average. It also varies by how much you have to lose,

though. The fewer pounds you have to lose, the fewer you will average. At

least that is my perception based on what I have heard form others on this

board.

trying to lose 6 lousy lbs.since Sept.1.....But I think my body is resting as I

lost 10 lbs in 11 days prior to this and I'm Pre-Op.....have patience (I know

......easy for me to say) listen to your body.....It's just taking a breather for

the next phase of losing!...God Bless

Don't stress over the number. You are doing great and the pounds will melt off

very soon. We all lose at varying speeds. Just keep following your doctor's

instructions and you'll begin losing more in no time.

Happened to a friend of mine, she gained 14 lbs in the hospital from

all the fluids and didn't start to lose until 3-4 weeks later, she was

freaking too, don't panic, some people just retain all that fluid at

first and they are still swollen.

I have been on this list for awhile and have noticed that the numbers do mean

alot. I am pre-op and feel llike I have already started my post op diet cause

everything is so sensitive to my blood sugars (which need to be in control

before I have surgery). I feel like MY METER numbers are not reading what I

feel they should say.

So I start writing what is good in my life RIGHT NOW. (one is just taking my

meter readings - it is easier to just avoid it - but then that gets me nowhere).

If I focus on the bad - I am more likely to " fall off the wagon " and give up.

I see my endocrinologist next week (who is as strict as any doctor gets). I

hope she accepts my numbers.

LOL I am still wearing my old stuff, albeit, it feels a bit too big, but I

still have not been able to go to the next size. I am trying hard not to

look at the numbers but focus on my health, but I can't help it. I am a

woman and want to start seeing more results faster.

Hugs,
