Guest guest
I just had to throw my .02 in with Jenn and Wendi! A breastfed baby is easiest just going with you to the movie. It's funny how one might think that a baby would be hardest to take to the movie, but they're not It's the walkers and talkers I always seem to have a hard time with! S. Guest guest
Beckie, Leave another way to give her the milk. A spoon, a dropper, a soft cup, anything besides a bottle. Just make sure your mom puts whatever it is up to her mouth and let her lap it up like a puppy instead of pouring it in her mouth. It may take a bit more work to feed her but will be well worth it in the long run, especially considering the problems you have had so far. Wendi http://www.lactivist.com breastfeeding info & resources question Question about pumping and giving baby a bottle. I want to go to the movies on Saturday, and planned on taking Mikayla with us, but My mom would like to watch her, would it be too sooon to pump milk out and give it to her in a bottle? I am scard to do this too soon, as I dont want her to become nipple confused, and not take to me agian. (the only reason i am concerned is becasue of all the problems we had in the beginning wiht the nipple shield.and latching on. Guest guest
You have gotten some great suggestions about alternative feeding methods but wanted to let you know that a tiny baby is the easiest type at the theater. Until my DD turned one, we took her to the movies as often as we could. She would nurse in the sling and sleep thru the whole thing. Since that time, I can count on one hand the number of movies I have seen. Grandma will get plenty of opportunities further down the road. :-) Jenn Mom to 2/16/97 -----Original Message----- Question about pumping and giving baby a bottle. Guest guest
This is a question to those of you who have had photoderm or are having it done now. Do you still use your metrocream or noritate or the rosacea LTD discs??? I haven't been using any of them since my treatment-just oil of olay moisturizer which does not irritate my face. I am wondering what the rest of you do?????? GLORIA
Guest guest
Hi Kim I just had my pre-op testing yesterday. This is how my day went: 1. met with ultrasound people. Had ultrasound of my gallbladder and other organs. 2. Met with nurse in surgical center. She basically went over history and what will happen when i come in for surgery, what kinds of meds i will have for pain, how long it will take, where my mom will wait and how things are gonna work on surgery day. She also reviewed what i was suppose to do to prepare, like not food or drink after midnight.. 3. The I met with the intern who went more into my family history, her name was , she was awesome, she also told me she would be there during surgery. she asked mye what i have done to lose weight in the past, etc... 4. Then I met with a doc who did a brief exam, like check my belly for hernias, listen to my heart, yaddi, yaddi, da.... 5. The I met with the Anestesia guy, he went over how I was gonna have an iv started, would be given happy juice, and then when i am in th or they will give oxygen and then some happy gas along with stuff in my iv. We went over my concerns, I have a SEVERE deviated septum, so he needs to make sure he is careeful with the ng tube. Also he ask if I was allergic to any med if i had had anestesia before. 6. Lastly I me with the blood ladt. They took about 3 viles of blood for testing. All in all I was there from 9am til about 2:00 mind you i hadnt eaten anything since dinner the night before. I WAS STARVING!!!! Good luck and no need to worry about anything you will do fine. JEnnifer > Hi everyone! > I have a question, When you go in for pre-op testing, what EXACTLY do > they test?! Guest guest
Kim, Who's your Dr? I had Dr. Randall...he sent me for blood work, EKG, and I was done. No chest x-ray was required, and no gall bladder scan thing...if he finds anything when doing the RNY with the GB he yanks it, otherwise, it stays. Dawn Question Hi everyone! I have a question, When you go in for pre-op testing, what EXACTLY do they test?! I would really like to know. Thanks, Kim in Methuen
