I am sure I have seen pictures of your blonde boys, but I am sorry to say I

do not remember what they look like! I never would have known they are

blonde, or boys, if you had not told me that.

I remember one picture of 4 blond children who were all wearing jeans and

white t-shirts. I don't know if that was even a person on this list, but

remember Matt asking me which kid/s were autistic & I did not know, so I

think it was someone here. I guessed the older two because they did not

seem to look at the camera.

Now you see, I remember all of this. But I do not know who those children

belong to, and I do not know their names, and Sue, I do not know how many

children you have or what their names are.

I am VERY bad at this!

I know you live in Michigan because your sig line used to read " Sue in MI "

and we used to live in MI and we still visit there so we might get to see

you sometime. So it was important for me to remember that. I am pretty

sure there are no other Sues on the list. Actually I can't remember if it

was Sue in MI or Sue in Michigan and that bothers me, but I am fairly sure

now that I write them both out that it was indeed MI.

Now if I started reading a post by you and you started talking about your

kids, I would start to remember more. But I do not have little files that

keep all that information together. I have to remember it by association.

You might say something and I would remember another post you wrote & I

might remember a story you told almost word for word, because I can see the

thing in my head and read the words, and so out of that I would be able to

start putting information together.

But I do not remember what people look like, and I do not remember their

names, and I generally do not remember where they live.

Please, please don't take this personally. It does not at all mean I don't

like you or you're not important to me. It's just the way my brain works.

There are all kinds of people out there who know my name and I have NO IDEA

who they are. All of Matt's extended family, for a start!! And these are

people I have known, in person, for 5 years! :/ Matt whispers to me,

" That's Aunt Janice who is a nurse and she had breast cancer & she has 3

teenage boys and she's married to Uncle Greg who is mom's adopted brother

and is bipolar. " Yes, we live in a soap opera. ;) " Janice! Hi! How are

you! Wow, you look wonderful, that dress is such a good color for you.

How's Greg? And the boys?... "

people on this list. i can't remember what day it is, but i guess that's not as

important ;)

anyway, anytime you want to know who somebody is or whatever, ask me. im sure

i'll have the answer :-/

Well we are set then. You tell me all that stuff, and I will tell you all

the stories about them, and together we will know who EVERYONE on this list

is! ;D

Sounds as if you do a good job, Sara.

Okay, here is the shocker (although I have said this before on this list).

I am as NT as all get-out but I am not good with face recognition. Not good

at all. What I remember is names and the correct spelling of the names.

If this sounds autistic, well, I am not. But I am very visual and I

remember words and their correct spellings but not faces. I realize that

this is probably some gene that increased my chances of having an autistic

child though.

Well, I am very Aspie and yet I never forget a face.

I don't remember names or any other details, but I

know immediately if I have seen someone before.

That's totally me. I forget the names of the people I work with at the

library! I can remember every word they've ever said to me, but I can't

call them by name.

YES.

But I don't recognize faces, either.

I will usually think they look familiar, but I have a hard time figuring out

who they are " out of context. "

Sara,

No offence taken. My problem is remembering names. I always have to be

told the name a second time. I will forget the first time within minutes!

And I'm probably as NT as can be.
