Guest guest
Hi Dave Tx for this support. I didnt think I was going to get *any* kind of endorsement! Thoth was certainly a pain but there is principle at stake. Im not suggsting that ppl should agree with me or that Thoth should be invited back, I just thought *somebody* ough to raise the issue. Guest guest
>Hey , isnt it reassuring your friendly neighbourhood flatfoot might be like this guy? Dont call 911, call 666... P.> " I am not a Christian " ---Thoth ;-) My old phone number began with 666- (seriously). If memory serves he was a security guard at factories and more recently a hospital--not a cop. I think he may have wanted to go into another health related field such as paramedic but I'm not sure. Which isn't to say there aren't plenty of cops who are satanists. I thought he was very honest about where he was coming from and what he believed in. Someone once compared him and his beliefs as being equivilent to christianity. This evidently offended Thoth. I know it offended me. I find the agument that he was an " offender " as spurious as " he scared me. " Typical feminine excuses to justify their own actions or lack of principles. But this OK in our double-standard culture and I'll let it go as a pet peeve. If T was booted for uncivil behavior I really don't have a problem with it. He certainly crossed every civil line when in " murder-fantasy curse mode. " Jim

Guest guest
Thoth was as thoroughly distasteful as most people who identify themselves as Satanists seem to be -- very low grade stuff. Case of " Sympathy for the Devil " with me in siding with his evidently virulent anti-XA opinions/experience. The strange case of Thoth . . . I'm behind Ken when the chips are down . > >Reply-To: 12-step-freeegroups >To: <12-step-freeegroups> >Subject: Re: Re: Thoth and freedom of speech >Date: Wed, 4 Oct 2000 15:05:25 -0600 > > >Hey , isnt it reassuring your friendly neighbourhood flatfoot >might be like this guy? Guest guest
You don't invite people to your house who are going to bitch you out. Why do you have a problem with that? He was a campus cop. Usually those people are real cops. > >Hey , isnt it reassuring your friendly neighbourhood flatfoot > might be like this guy? Guest guest
> You don't invite people to your house who are going to bitch you out. > Why do you have a problem with that? Well, this isnt anyone's house for a start, and the other thing is I dont actually recall Thoth actually bitching at anyone on the list - he just said some pretty grisly stuff that wasnt aimed at anyone here. and of course, personal feuds are extremely common on lists. ly, I think this is probably the least troubled list I've ever participated in. I think that actually says something about us. You ahould have seen what went on on the OA list I used to belong to. Another thing worth noting is that the number of ppl who've got into big scrapes with drink or drugs is pretty small too - I bet an AA or NA list would have had far more episodes. Mutual pat on the back everyone. P.
