Guest guest
Chocolate is not allowed. I don't know of any presliced lunch meat, but you can get legal hams and slice them yourself. Salt cured hams are what I have seen that are legal. You have to soak them for hours and hours and hours or they are too salty, but in th end they are delicious. The plain turkey is o.k. The plain > turkey is o.k. > Kathy Whole Foods has fresh roast beef to slice with no additives but it does have some peppercorns on the outside. Homemade meatloaf chilled and sliced thin is an excellent luncheon meat. So are little mini meat balls or chicken nuggets made at home. Beef jerky made in a dehydrator is another option and Prosciutto is lrgal. Carol F.
Guest guest
Hi Carol and , Although homemade jerky would be a great SCD treat, it may not be suitable for someone just starting the diet. We have had past reports were it was causing upset to newbies. If your child isn't experiencing much in the way of GI symptoms you could try a small amount and if they do well gradually increase. If possible it is better to start with meats prepared as in the intro diet and work up to drier cuts of meat.
