Lori, You could have come here to Louisiana. I hate the idea of you being in that hurricane. Please take care. Do you have refills of your meds, food, etc. alternate power source, etc. I know I sound like a mother hen but I am concerned. If you decide to come to Monroe, I will put you and your family up and take care of you. Just call me at 318/387-9645 anytime and I will prepare things for you.

I thought about trying to leave, my sister tried all day Thursday to get me a flight to anywhere, and there were none available. I thought about driving but I'm in such bad shape physically, I couldn't make the drive anywhere far enough away. But I truly do appreciate the offer, you warmed my heart today. I have everything (I hope!) except for backup power. I have plenty of candles and flashlights, water, meds, food, etc. It's so expensive getting ready for a hurricane!! A friend came by and boarded up my windows, so hopefully I will be fine. It should get here by tonight though the weather is already getting bad now. It's probably too late but if need if it is necessary and you can't get back home I will try as far as I can and get someone else to help and we will get you out of there and somewhere comfortable until everything is back in order. I don't want you to hurt yourself anymore than you are already. Please let me know. I am very serious about this.

I tried to get out but it was too late, and nobody could get in either. It was pretty crazy with all of the evacuations, and my job didn't close until the last minute so then we were stuck. Thankfully it went down to a category 2...4 would have been so much worse. You are the greatest for trying to get me out! If you ever need anything I'm here for you too.
