Guest guest
Kate, Your description of what you are going through brings back very recent and not very pleasant memories. I pray you get the call soon. is actually doing much better since Mayo put her on a long-term antibiotic. MUSC absolutely refused to do it. Her ALK has come down from 1730 to 450 and her bilirubin from 8.5 to 4. Her other LFT's are almost normal. Mayo is dubious about whether has recurring PSC. They want to do another ERCP (she has had five done since the transplant 4/27), a CT scan (she has had 10 done since the transplant) and maybe a liver biopsy (four since the transplant). We sent all the slides and films up to Mayo but they want to do their own. We have to find out if our insurance will pay for it. But, staying away from the hospital right now for is the best therapy. There is something wrong and we need to find out but it is so nice to have her home and feeling reasonably well. After the New Year, we will make our decision. Good Luck to Deb and you. Guest guest
Dear Ruth, Sounds like a good decision to let keep her distance from hospitals and testing for a short while. I'm glad that you were able to go to Mayo for a second opinion, and also that they are dubious about whether she actually has recurring PSC or not. Please keep us all updated. Sending you special wishes for a healthy 2006. Ricky Re: Re: Kate Dear Ruth, Bless you and , may 2006 be a great year for you both!
