Guest guest
Have you tried ProFect? It is 2.9 ozs and it has 25 g of protein in it and no sugar and no carbs. You can order a sample set of 4 and if you like it you can order the case of 24. It is kind of expensive so what I do is on days that I don't get as much protein, I will do half. It is kind of a sweet tasting, and I find it best if you pour it in a one once cup (like you had at the hospital) and kind of just donw that, if you sip on it, it seems to grow and it makes it harder to get down. I am almost 8 weeks post op and there are days I just can't all my protein in (60g), but this early out and no more than you can eat/drink, my doctor says is normal, but the ProFect seems to be MUCH better than those chocolate drinks. Hope that helps some, H. > > I am about 2 1/2 weeks post op, and I have just started the task of > trying to find some protein shakes that I can actually get down. Guest guest
I haven't tried that one. The I have now is just a whey protein, and I mixed it in milk. By the time I drink 8 ounces I am so full and miserable! > > > > I am about 2 1/2 weeks post op, and I have just started the task of > > trying to find some protein shakes that I can actually get down. Guest guest
Order the sample pack from bariatriceating.com. That way you can find something you like. Guest guest
Have you tried mixing it w/ water? Milk is very filling to me. Plus it adds calories & fat. I mix mine w/ water & ice in a blender. W 380/310/160 claireadams55 wrote: > I haven't tried that one. The I have now is just a whey protein, > and I mixed it in milk. Guest guest
I have tried many kinds. I go to www.bethsproteinboutique.com, www.vitalady.com, and www.bariatriceating.com and buy samples. That is the safest. Then you can buy the ones you like in bulk. I really like PVL cookies and cream, PVL strawberry banana and PVL dark chocolate mousse. I had Next Level Craving Chocolate today in 4 oz skim milk and it tasted just like carnation instant breakfast. I've been using a vanilla and adding strawberries and banana to it but that probably isn't good for postop. I've also bought several Davinci syrups but I'm actually afraid to try them. in MI > > > > I am about 2 1/2 weeks post op, and I have just started the task of > > trying to find some protein shakes that I can actually get down. Guest guest
I ordered samples from Vitalady.com & I also had unjury.com shakes from my surgeons office.I really liked these in chocolate, but everyones tastes are different.Alot of us use the Da vinci sugar free flavored syrups. They are available online & at Wal - Mart in the coffee section. They make the shakes more flavorful & tolerable.Good luck to you! Guest guest
Or you could just not drink any protein shakes. I haven't really had shakes since about a month post op. Certainly not since three months post op. Before that all shakes tasted fantastic! For a day or two. Then not so much. Then blech. Now I doubt they'd fill me up or taste as good as tuna salad, chili or chicken. Hmm, I wonder if mixing all three of those would be tasty? Maybe not. Guest guest
I like Protein Delite. I think stateside you can order it from most GMC's. I order my protein online at either one of these two sites. I have ordered from both, both are excellent. Both sites you can order shake samples for about $2.00 each. www.vitalady.com www.bariatriceating.com Namaste, Marilynn > > I am about 2 1/2 weeks post op, and I have just started the task of > trying to find some protein shakes that I can actually get down. I have never used the cooking kind. claireadams55 wrote: I am about 2 1/2 weeks post op, and I have just started the task of trying to find some protein shakes that I can actually get down. Guest guest
I just recently started having a protein shake for breakfast. But, I hadn't had any since about a month out. My nutritionist said I was getting enough protein protein in my food. But, I started having one for breakfast simply because my tummy doesn't do so well w/ food in the morning. Guest guest
The Body Fortress from Wal-Mart is good too. That's what I use for my morning shake. Guest guest
My doctor has me on a soft liquid diet until I am 6 weeks out. (I still have three more to go) I can only have cream soups, pudding, jello, and whipped potatoes of a thin consistency(SP?) So, at this point, this is the only way I am getting in protein. It just makes me feel so bad after I drink it. > > > > > > > > I am about 2 1/2 weeks post op, and I have just > > > started the task of > > > > trying to find some protein shakes that I can > > > actually get down. Guest guest
Vitalady.com also has a great variety pack. Yummy stuff - I love the coco mochaccino and cookies and cream mixed with coffee. The orange dreamcicle was great with crystal light orange. Guest guest
Nope I don't have that problem at all. I take 8oz of water about 3 ice cubes & blended it for about 3 8-10 second bursts in my blender. Hardly any foam at all. And they have a new & improved formula. Less fat more protein! Woot!
