Guest guest
I'm sure it is this new WOE. I have tried many different diets and the heartburn has always been a problem without meds. I did have a gain this week but I am a bit bloated today and I ate a bit too much salt yesterday and Monday (monday being the worse) Hopefully will have it back off next week. Take care and God bless ellen
Guest guest
Oh, would I love to get off the GERD meds. I hope I can write a post like this by next year! ann > I have been able to just about give up my meds for GERD. I was on protonix for the last 3 years then a couple of months ago Dr switched me to Prilosec and as of today I haven't had any in about 8 days and no heartburn. Can't remember last time I went that long without takine my meds and being heartburn free. Which is great now to be able to get off the HP meds. Guest guest
I hope you can. I found out by accident when I realized I had forgotten to take them for a couple of days didn't have any heartburn so decided to wait until the heartburn came back before taking them again. I hope I can stay off them they are the most expensive of my meds since they are over the counter. Take care and God bless Ellen Oh, would I love to get off the GERD meds. Guest guest
I used to have some pretty nasty heartburn from time to time as well. It was almost certainly due to the amount of starch in my diet. None now though. I can't remember the last time I had heartburn and I hope it stays away. Guest guest
Congratulations, Ellen!! This is wonderful news! I am so very happy for you. I look forward to getting off some meds myself in the future too. Congrats again. Donna I have been able to just about give up my meds for GERD. Guest guest
I used to take medication for reflux and found that I was able to move away from it. My weight loss (which happened a few years later) pretty much ended the problem altogether. Back when I was heavy, the problem would wake me from a sound sleep as " it " would come up to my throat, mouth and nose. No, not pleasant. Chuck Re: Re: good news I hope you can. Guest guest
ann, > can't wait til I have a decent amount of weight off and til I get this > constipation thing solved once and for all. I drink a product called " Secrets of the Psyllium " from Trader Darwin's (I buy it at Trader Joe's butI think Metamucil contains psyllium). It helps me stay regular and has helped me with the constipation problem. I take 2 tbsps (1 serving). It's got 5 calories, 10g of carbohydrates which all come from fiber, 20 mg of calcium, 1 mg of iron, 10 mg of sodium and 105 mg of Potassium. It also has 12 g of Blonde Psyllium Seed Husks. I found a link that will tell you more about what Psyllium does: http://www.healthcastle.com/psyllium.shtml Give it a try, it might help relieve your problem as well.
