Hi Angie, :o)

I'm Tina M (not to be confused with Tina W ;o) I have 3 kids also.

is 11 (on Thursday), mentally handicapped and autistic, Sami

(my middle NT child) is 9 and is 7, behavior problems, possible

seizure activity (this has NOT been a good week for him. :o( )

learning delayed and maybe Aspergers or high functioning autism?

Welcome to the group. I've only been here a few months but I wish I'd

found this group years ago! It's a wonderful group.

She has dipthroids in her urine. She always has bladder infections-

it's part of the SB. The dipthroids " harmless " bacteria on your skin,

but it colonized in her urine at greater than 100,000 (should be

NONE). My Dr humored me after a month and sent it out to see what

strain it is to try to treat it then prescribed...are you ready?

Amoxicillin! Needless to say it proved to be useless. So they sent

her to a psychologist, thinking her symptoms were depression. She's

been on Paxil for 3 weeks and she seems more pleasant but still has

overwhelming fatigue. Now we have to re-do her PET because of all the

time she's missed. They mentioned putting her in a special ed class

where the program can go at her pace. I hate to think that all these

years of mainstreaming were a waste! High school is more strict- you

absolutely must do the work or you don't get the credit.

PHEW! Don't get me started, I'll talk your ear off!

I guess my standards are a little lax. This is due to mental health

issues (mine- someone has to stay sane around here!) Actually, I was

happy he was wearing underwear!

FIVE! Now that sounds fun! Where did the nickname Putter come from? I

can imagine how The Evil Robbette came about!

Underwear works for me. I'm happy if they have underwear on also.

We didn't even enforce wearing shirts for the girls until they were

double digits.

First he was Ox, because his name was Xavier and my husband had a friend

named that who was called Ox. I adjusted that name to Oxy, and then to

Oxy-Pooh. After a bit Oxy-Pooh became Putti, which I thought of as being

like those little Italian cherubs, not anything unpleasant. Putti gradually

turned into Putter because as his brother said he puttered with

stuff and Putt Putt because he putted around.

I

> can imagine how The Evil Robbette came about!

Putter also has an Evil Title. Putter, you see, has three personalities.

Putter, a nice little boy with autism; The Evil Mr. Putt, which again needs

no explanation (it was The Evil Mr. Putt who last year decided that there

was a place for everything and everything should be in its place and mine

was in the computer chair which made for a very hard, if computer-filled,

spring break two years ago); and his third personality which manifested

itself as soon as Putter's language caught up a bit with his general

intelligence, Professor Putt.

This is TOO halarious! I thought I was the only one with weird family

names!

When my husband and met, couldn't say " " . When

found out had a pointy ear at birth, he started calling him

Spock. could say that, so he started calling Spock too.

Which led to call Spockenstein. About the same time, his

BM's got real bad, which led people to say " MOM! KYLE STINKS! " ...So

the natural progression was Stinkenstein (UGH! I never approved of it

but no one else seemed to care) which led to Stinky. It was actually

more of a reference to his behavior than his smell...

Eventually he found out what that meant and he didn't like it (poor

kid).

Now we just call him :)

When the psychologist was asking me about family relationships I

tried to explain some of this to her. I got about 2 sentences in when

I realized I must sound like a raving lunatic...

Hi Angie,

Welcome. My name is Debbie. I have 27 month old boy/girl twins. My

boy, Jordan, was diagnosed with autism in July. His twin sister, ,

is NT (neurotypical).

I live outside Cleveland, Ohio with my DH, Rick, and 2 cats (Ivy and

Seymour). I'm currently a SAHM. Though, it's a way harder job than

when I was an accountant, lol.

Hello everyone! My name is Angie and I have 3 *charming* children!

Carissa is 15 and has spina bifida and some other mysterious thing

that has kept her out of school since October. is 8, a middle

child between 2 special needs siblings and handles it better than I

would! is 6, PDD-NOS and...well, what can you say? You all know!

I am remarried to a wonderful guy with nerves of steel, who still

married me in spite of everything! My boys gave me away at the

wedding- well actually only did. screamed " NNNOOOOOOO " !

But we got married anyway :-) We also have a spoiled rotten cat named

Baby Kitty. Last fall took the kids to get pumpkins and came

home with a cat. I knew I should have gone with them! Needless to say

I don't send him ANYWHERE alone now!

I am so glad to find this group! It will be great to be able to share

life with others and not worry about DHS being called! I have many

things to talk about. Like last night comes up and says " Can I

have an orange popsicle because I need my pants " What the heck does

THAT mean?? Took me until this morning to figure out he must have

been hot because he actually wasn't wering pants. The kid cracks me

up!

Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Angie
