Guest guest
I was doing so well with staying OP most of the time but this past week I have gained 3.5 lbs. and I don't even care! I have no motivation what-so-ever to get back on program and don't like this. I started my new job and the drug reps bring in meals for us that are free. Others bring in donuts. It's so hard to walk away from the fattening stuff and I haven't. Any words of advice for those who have been here? Sharon
Guest guest
Hey Sharon, Sorry to hear that your motivation is lacking. I understand what you are talking about as far as the drug reps. I have a friend that is a Nurse Practioner and says that the reps are always bringing her food. It is called "kissing up". She has gained a lot of weight since she started and this is what she ended up doing and maybe you could try it too. She suggested that instead of the "junk" stuff they bring platters of fruit or veggies. I know that is kind of tacky, but lets face it, you are in the health profession don't you think you should eat healthy?!? Just explain to them that you are health conscious and would like to be able to enjoy their gifts too. Remember YOU ARE WORTH IT!!!! As she told them, it is pretty bad when everyone in the office is munching on the "junk" stuff and she is telling her patients to eat healthy! Guest guest
I totally forgot about your new job Sharon... how's it going??? I can tell you I've been where you are many times and deciding to stay on track is not always easy. Many times I find myself repeating in my head the same thing I tell my two oldest kids... not everything we do is easy or fun but it needs to be done so you just have to do it. It's not easy to say no to free food or to favorite sweets but sometimes it just needs to be done :-) Put some motivational quotes around you where you work and at home. Keep the big picture in mind. You know where you want to go and how to get there!! Your motivation will come back sooner than you think Sharon and we are all here to support you!! You can do it!! ~~ I was doing so well with staying OP most of the time but this past week I have gained 3.5 lbs. and I don't even care! Actually, now that I think about it they have been bringing some healthy stuff. We had breakfast served to us yesterday and it was lots of fresh fruit along with the danishes. We also had subway served one day and grilled chicken fajitas. Guest guest
Thank you ! The motivation may be starting to creep back. Kind of hard to tell. But you know what? I have pretty much eaten whatever I have wanted this past week and I am losing weight. I don't get it. The job is going ok. I don't dislike it and I don't look forward to going. I think I'll like it more once I know how to do it all on my own. Sharon Re: NO motivation I totally forgot about your new job Sharon... how's it going??? It seems like I have no time to post anymore. I was working 4 days a week and am now working five. Plus I am now working dayshift instead of evenings. When I worked evenings I had all morning to be on here. I'll be ok. I do enjoy reading though. Guest guest
I just want to thank everyone for the encouraging words that you sent. I can't respond to everyone as I would like to because I have 735 messages to read today before I start back to work tomorrow. I am really trying hard to get that motivation back.
