Guest guest
Welcome home, Chrissy, Saw you post, and I think that Medicaid can provide you with a list of Drs. who will accept??? If not, anyone know of a Dr. in NY that will? Hugs, Jo
Guest guest
> >Hi Chrissy Nice to meet you! I was in no mood yesterday to get into the whole deal of seeking out yet a new Dr. however Im in a better frame of mind today. I will call my case manager on Monday and talk to her about the next step to take, after I have to have someone following me, as of right now theres no one really. I live about 45 min north of Boston so I am in hopes that there is someone who will answer my prayers lol. I just hate the idea of going to yet another dr and telling my story. I've seen the w/c dr, my primary, 2 hand specialists, my pain management dr, 2 OT therapists and 2 PT therapists. Its getting redundant LOL But my chin is up and Im in a far better mood today..perhaps things will start looking up I just have to desire it enough to make it happen I guess. Have a great weekend Donna
Guest guest
Donna, I'm so sorry to hear about the latest setback with your doctor. Please don't give up....I know it is hard but you have to keep fighting. I know what you are going through as I've been sitting around month after month, getting worse every day, and not getting any treatment. Then when they come up with something the insurance denies it, so I'm back to square one again. But I won't give up and you can't either. If you don't fight for yourself nobody else will, ya know? I am in Florida so I don't know of any doctors in the Boston area to help you, but hopefully someone here has been able to help you. Does your pain doc have anyone he can refer you to, or do you have a primary doc? Please hang in there, we are all here for you...keep us posted and keep fighting!<hugs> Lori
Guest guest
Lori Im doing better today..I've got another injection shceduled for Tuesday morning and 2 more each tuesday for the following 2 wks. That has been half the battle. I havent spoken to my pain dr yet but plan to as Im without a following dr at the moment. Having gained my composure, I plan to call my case manager on Monday and have a long talk with her about 1. job options 2. new following dr 3. plan for long term care and 4 . plan for ME in the long run. I being kept in the dark and I feel very much in the dark right now and and also not having control and I lost that long ago. But I'm alright, I've got alot of fight in me lol just that its getting harder to find it. I'm so thankful for the support I receive here though, it gets me through some very dark times. THANK YOU!! Guest guest
Hi Donna and Everyone, I haven't posted in a VERY long time...had no computer but now I'm back online again and back with the group and am very ecstatic about it..Donna, I TOTALLY know and understand what you're going through...I got dog bit on my right hand on July 4, 2003, developed RSD, I wasn't working at the time, of course I'm suing the owners of the dog but needless to say, I had NO insurance at all and no $$$ to put out for doctor's and stuff..so I applied for SSD/SSI, got approved first time, got Medicaid (I'm in NY), my doc told me to go to Albany Medical Center and see a Neuro so I get up there after waiting over 3 1/2 months for my appointment, I was 15 minutes late cause I didn't know where it was exactly and they were gonna cancel my appt!! Anyway, I see this doctor and he tells me after seeing him AND the head of the Neuro dept that there's nothing they can do for me and that I need pain management...well so far I can't find ANY pain management place that takes Medicaid..then this other doctor had me go get an EMG..I think that's it..PAIN, PAIN, PAIN!!! Nobody told me that this test sends electric pulses through your hand!! I thought I was gonna die! I almost decked out the technician doing the test and she apologized and that was only after I screamed and scared the people out in the hall away...then she told me that there's a doctor in Danbury, Conn. named Dr. Kloth and he specializes in RSD which is great but I'll never see him...I don't think he'd take a Medicaid case and even if he did, I don't think Conn. would take NY Medicaid..so here I am, on 1800mgs of Neurontin a day, haven't gone to P.T. in like 2 months and can't find a pain management center who'll take Medicaid so I know how you feel...I'm there myself right now and I really wish there was someone out there who could help me and everyone else who has this horrid dreaded disease...Maybe you can go to that Dr Kloth seeing as how it's a w/c case...it's worth checking out and if he's as good as that woman told me, all's the more better for you..well take care and I shouldn't say to try and keep your chin up but I'm saying it..think of something happy to try and get through the day...
