We have a super soaker (not a dry spot left to pick the thing up with) about

every 2.5 hours.

My DD (8 months) is a puddle girl .. she pees only little bits at a time. If

I let her crawl around naked ... there will be a little puddle here and

another puddle there -- like a puppy :) :). Though her first morning

diapers are always the wettest. I change her 6 or 7 times a day and the

diapers aren't always drenched. She certainly is gaining and happy, so I

know she gets enough. :)

Rhonda,

With the frequent nursing and not so wet diapers I would be concerned, not

alarmed but wanting to pay more attention. Do you use disposable diapers or

cloth, because that makes a big difference. How old is she? Is the every

45 minute pattern recent or how she has mainly been nursing? Does she only

nurse on one breast or only one breast at a time? Are you drinking plenty

of fluid?

wet diapers

O.k. I have a question how wet is a wet diaper to all of you? is it one pee

or soaking wet (not so bad that its neglect ya know) just doesn't seem

to have a real wet diaper all the time. If I let her go to a soaking wet

diaper I would only have to change her three times a day (24 hours) that

just

doesn't seem right to me. She does poop every day but she just doesn't seem

to wet alot.and she has been nursing a lot seems like she is in a every 45

min mode. She will nurse for about 15 min and then 45 min later want to

again

on one breast only. If I seem to be rambling incoherently its because she

had

me up every hour on the dot last night wanting to nurse.

My son has always been like this. His diapers were never really soaked even

with the frequent nursing sessions. As long as she is nursing well, seems

alert, and is acting normal I wouldn't worry. None of my kids ever did the 8-10

diapers a day thing, usually it was more like 4-5 per day.

Hi Rhonda

A wet diaper in the technical sense is just a pee, one pee! :) is a

pee-o-rama type of kid and I swear he pees every 10 mins! I find it's easier

to tell when he's peed in a cloth rather than disposable

I would suggest if you are concerned about how many wet diapers, use

cloth ones for a day or two (if you are using disposables) and you will

get a more accurate idea of your baby's output. Or even switch to the

real " cheap " disposables, rather than luvs or pampers, etc. to get a

better idea.

My son is pee-o-rama type of baby also! LOL! When my son was first born we

could not tell how often he was peeing using the Pampers disposable diapers.

The nurse at the ped center told us to put a kleenex in his diaper so that

we could tell how often he was having a wet diaper. It worked well for

telling us to tell how often he was peeing; however, the kleenex had a

tendency to stick to him after it got wet.

Same with , after he was born he didn't pee at all for almost 36 hours,

but now he doesn't stop! :)

Good idea, but I see the problem! You can buy diaper liners made by Kooshie

that are meant for cloth diapers that would probably do the same thing but

wouldn't dissolve the way Kleenex does!
