Pam,

That's a really good question. I don't think they actually " filled in " the

area, I think it was sewn shut with stiches. From what I remember of the

lab pictures, and the diagram the surgeon drew, the area was sewn shut - but

I'll try to remember to ask at my next apointment.

Pam,

He's going to have a hard time understanding. According to my dh, men are

not good with handling venting. They think they have to fix ALL our

problems, or they're a failure (atleast that's how feels). I have

to constantly remind him that I'm venting, and I just need him to listen. I

think with the ep it's a lot different. He probably wants to cry and be

upset also, but is afraid to. still hasn't cried, or acted upset

infront of me! According to my friends he was a wreck during the surgery

and cried to everyone on the phone. He's just so relieved that I'm okay, I

don't think he can handle being emotionally upset about the ep. Tonight he

told me that receiving so many emails is a waste of my time (regardless of

the fact that it's not his decision to make!).

Last night we had our weekly counselling session. Normally we're a great

couple and are very loving. Well, last night, the counselor said that she

felt that I couldn't stand ; and that he was doing whatever he could

to try to please me. I wanted to jump over the table and strangle her!!! I

told that he hasn't a clue what our relationship is like, and would have

said more if hadn't stopped. Luckily I stayed calm (which is rare

for me), but I know next week I have a few things to air which should be

interesting.

Losing this baby has been very hard for your dh. You both need to just

ignore each other's negative reactions and focus on the positive. He

doesn't understand the maternal loss and the raging hormones - and he never

will. It will get better, unfortunately it usually gets worse first. Let's

pray that this is the worst. Just keep talking to him. It's not a bad idea

to write him a letter; either leave it somewhere for him, or email it to

him. Just give him time to read and digest it when you're not around.

Considering most men don't think about their personal life at work (which is

completely foreign to me!), he'll need atleast 8-10 hours before he sees

you - and then, don't mention the letter at all!!! If you leave him alone,

he'll bring it up when he's ready. With it could take up to 3 days,

but it usually yields positive results.

I'll be praying for you! {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

Pam,

Sometimes I want to strangle mine, but the rest of the time he's really

great.

If you think about it: when in your relationship have you been this

emotional (all at the same time), the poor guy is probably worried beyond

belief!

HI Pam,

I think that chicken pox is contagious before the breakout when the

child is running the fever BEFORE the spots even show up. I think you

are probably safe, at least I hope so. Take care,

Even though we are on different meds it sounds the same. There are

two viles one with water and one with powder. Each is one amp. I just

took 1 cc of water which is one whole vile. Injected it into the

powder. Mixed it a bit. Then put it back in the syringe then put it

in the next powder etc.. You have to use all three amps of powder but

not all three amps of water. I think it will be a lot more painful if

you do to much water. I hope I am making sense.

Pam,

Are you off all day Thursday? Mayber you can go to the movies or shopping

or something (anything) to keep your mind off the test until the results

come back. I can't believe how calm you are, I would have done daily hpt's

by now!!!!

So you only did 2 amps of stims daily? I guess they think I need a little

(a lot) more. As long as it works I don't care what they give me. I don't

know how I'm going to handle the daily visits. A friend of mine said the

same thing to me on Saturday. She used the same doctor and lives only a few

minutes from us. She said the daily drives were horrible. That's really

going to play havoc on our office schedule; but it makes sense, they need

to know what's going on.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Lots of ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: baby dust!!!!

I am sorry, I live in California and cannot help with the doctor situation

but I think it is terrible that they would tell her to wait 6 months!!! This

disease is serious and 6 months could make a huge difference. She should get

a second opinion right away. I will say a prayer for her.

Thank you. I think its terrible to wait 6 months too especially since she's been trying to get a diagnosis since 1999. First the drs thought she had Epstein-Barr, then Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, then Sleep Apnea (she even had surgery), and now possibly mito. myopathy. All of her tests come back slightly abnormal but not definitive. I've learned a lot about how little medical science really knows from watching what she's gone through. Its a little scary. Pam

Pam,

I can't say I know how you feel exactly because I haven't been in your shoes but

I can tell you that somewhere within you you will find the strength to make the

decisions that need to be made and to get through this ordeal. I have 2

daughters with a genetic disorder that has caused them both to have seizures and

there have been times when I've felt so frustrated and scared that I thought I

couldn't handle it and then, just somehow, I did. Eventually, as my child

recovered and smiled and seemed happy I knew I'd make it. And so will you.

Don't tackle it all at once or let the entire situation overwhelm you. Deal

with the most pressing issue then move on to the next. The big picture is too

much to look at sometimes. Lots of prayers are the best advice I can give. I

don't know if you're a religious person but if you turn something over to God

through prayer you have to trust him and try to let it rest with him.

My prayers are with you and your family. I live in Kansas, 2 blocks from where

the Tornados took families entire homes away with mine being untouched. I look

around at my family with all of our problems and am just thankful we are all

safe. Those kind of moments always put things in perspective.

God Bless,

in KS mom to Karley, 9, Allyson 12 both with Tuberous Sclerosis and Nick,

10.

Way to go Pam. It sounds like you are right on plan and working it well. Keep up the great work, you will find many successes with SB.
