Guest guest
Did his Dr say no tylenol? 's Dr let him take 2000mg per day if need which is less that someone with a normal liver. Since you can't take ASA or motrin the choices are limited. If it is a plain cold tresting the symptoms with fluids, nutrition and rest is always the best choice. Is there any suspicion it could be the flu? Martimitra maleki wrote: Hi and Happy New Year everyone, Does anyone know what is the best way to deal with cold in psc and uc cases? My brother is under 1000 mg ursodiol,Sulfasalazine 2ooo mg daily and folic acid 1 mg . He is new in Canada and living with me for a while and he has a bad cold . Guest guest
Thanks Marti, I'm not quite sure about flu or cold, but I think is just a cold. He has no health card so far so I can't take him to the doctors right now. I am waiting for his Ohip card which is coming in the next week. If I see the symptomes of flu then I have to take him to the doctor eventhough is gonna cost a lot because he has no coverage. MitraMarti wrote: Did his Dr say no tylenol? Guest guest
Thank you Lee, my problem is that I have to wait until he gets his health card. He came to canada to stay, it takes 3 months to get the health card. He has to wait another week. Thank you though , I am going to buy a vaporizer. MitraLee Bria wrote: Dear Mitra,Bill had a cold a few weeks ago.I ran a hot vaporizer in his room. The only medicine he took for it was some afrin nose spray , sparingly as he was so congested and some benadryl.Check with your own doctor of course before taking anything.Lee> Hi and Happy New Year everyone,>> Does anyone know what is the best way to deal with cold in psc and > uc cases?> My brother is under 1000 mg ursodiol,Sulfasalazine 2ooo mg daily > and folic acid 1 mg . Guest guest
Dear Mitra, I just am getting over a cold as well, and I got a lot of relief from taking zinc in two forms: Cold-Eeze, which is a lozenge, and Zicam, which is a Q-tip with zinc on it which you use as a swab inside your nose. If you start taking zinc as soon as the cold symptoms start, it actually shortens the span of the cold. (Well, it works for me.)
