ok, i hate to ask such a stupid question, but why don't you ask him to join you

while you eat?

Yuck! Men do this too often. I hope Enrique never finds out. :P

Just what a kid with OCD needs...

Lou took the three little kids out today; he has not seen them since last

Tuesday, I believe. He was moving out of his apartment into someone's basement,

I think, although I do not know for sure. That is what Sophie told me

anyway....

He planned to take them to our local Nature Center and then return them home,

and take the three older ones to a Lessons and Carols service at his church.

Enrique was horrified; he kept saying to me, " But I already know carols, why,

oh, why do I have to go? "

Only later did I realize that Enrique thought it was a Lessons IN Carols

class.

Anyway, Lou hung around while we ate dinner because it was sort of pointless

for him to return home and then immediately come back to pick up ,

Sophie and reluctant Enrique.

I hate Lou waiting like this when we eat because he usually manages to scarf

up some food. We were having Swedish meatballs and I think he grabbed a couple

while no one was looking. He certainly cleaned some children's plates as they

sat by the sink, but the worst happened during dinner.

Enrique and I sit with our backs to the refrigerator. Sophie and

face the refrigerator. Robbie is on a side and Putter is generally not present

for dinner as he does not eat our poisonous NT foods, but chooses only clean and

pure foods. I looked at Sophie and and saw horrified faces. They

were looking behind me. I turned my head slightly and saw Lou drinking straight

from a 2 liter bottle of coke.

Great.

If Enrique EVER learns about this he will probably cease drinking anything at

all and die of dehydration.

Don't necessarily want to eat with him?

Anyway, my lawyer told me not to invite him to dinner. I used to

occasionally.

I do not know why she thinks that is important.

yeah, that's what i figured, but is it more uncomfortable for him to eat with

you or to roam around your house while you're eating?

perhaps she thinks he will take it the wrong way which i suppose he's apt to do

:-/

Just a shot in the dark here, but I bet an invite to eat would sound to Lou

like an invite back into the family home.

Way to make yourself at home, Lou.

geez.

:/

Penny <

yeah...

i was actually gonna make the point that whether he's actually " invited " to

dinner or not, his actions show that he feels he's quite welcome.

salli- i think if you want lou to KNOW he's not welcome to dinner, you're gonna

have to spell it out to him in as many words. that means, no picking at the

dinner food, no going through the fridge, no wandering through the house while

you're eating. if you want to let him wait there for the kids to eat rather than

make him go home and come back, that's fine, but he's to stay in one spot, out

of the kitchen, until you're done.

Why do some men (I won't generalize them all this way, because I don't

know about this) but why do some men think this is acceptable? My DH

does this too!!!! It is irritating as heck because what if I have

guests over and want to serve them a drink? He doesn't do it anymore

after all my bitching about it, but I wonder about behind my back.

Sorry Salli. What a difficult situation to be in. You're trying to

help your kids out and be gracious about it but he sure doesn't make it

easy!
