Guest guest
I think part of the weight gain with FM is just that we don't/can't move as much as we used to so some of the gain is due to inactivity. Some of the weight gain is also due to the meds we are taking. But, maybe if we modify the way we eat and stick to something like The South Beach Diet which is particularly healthy eating, it might help to avoid some of the pounds. Lots of fruit and veggies and whole grains and lean protein. I can make some awesome veggie meals. I even use the whole wheat pasta and it is really good. It might be something to check into if you are not already on a weight loss program. I got the South Beach first book and it has really helped me. Good New years resolution! I told myself that I might have Fibro, but Fibro does NOT have me! It does help to have (try) to have a positive attitude. (I know there is a lot more going on than the Fibro.) We have to learn to care about ourselves. Make up, new hairstyle, good diet. It all helps. Ruthie (my 2 cents)
