Guest guest
DMPS is prescription and does not seem to have the yeast issues associated with DMSA. It works about the same. There are a couple of countries where it is sold OTC which are listed here: /files/HOW_TO_buy_DMSA Switzerland is one of them. best wishes, Moria
Guest guest
Hi Michele, For me as an adult chelating I could not use DMSA and could not tollerate ALA without the DMPS at first, it helped tremendously in reducing side effects. Guest guest
Hi Joyce--I don't know if there is a commercial name for dmps-- my prescription just says " dmps " on it-- no name for it. This is a cut and paste from one of andy's posts on suggested dosage for dmps 1/8 to 1/2 mg per pound of kid (if you work in kilograms, divide his weight by 10 and by 20 and pick a dose between those two numbers). It is suggested to give it every 8 hours... could also give it every 6 hours at first if you have a really sensitive child. W (btw, you forgot to delete the rest of your digest, oopsie!) :-) > What is DMPS' commercial name ( as Chemet is for DMSA)? What would be the recommended dosage for a 40 lb. child? Guest guest
I took my 3 year old son to a DAN! Dr. for the first time last week and among all of the tests that were done he was given a secretin infusion, a glutathione iv and a DMPS iv. After reading more about DMPS I am a bit worried. Have I made a huge mistake? Can someone tell me what to look for reaction wise? Can there be positives to this? I only wanted to help my son and I'm wondering if I have just made things worse... Your thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks, Jen

You got lucky. If he isn't having problems yet he is almost certainly OK. I would not suggest pushing your luck any further with more DMPS iv's, glutathione IV's or visits to needle crazed DAN! doctors unaware of the risks of the therapies they offer. > Can someone tell me what to look for > reaction wise? Can there be positives to this? You learned something without him having to suffer - check what the doctor wants to do with other people BEFORE letting the doctor do it. > I only wanted to help my son and I'm wondering if I have just made > things worse... Guest guest
Has she tried THE FALLS PHARMACY in Snoqualmie, WA-- I think they have one of the best prices on oral dmps around. Look them up on the internet and have her give them a call. The phone number is 1-877- 392-7948 FWIW, the challenge results are not conclusive, meaning, just because someone doesn't dump mercury on the first challenge, doesn't mean it's not in there or that they aren't hg toxic... there are many who have not done well on the challenge, to go on and chelate and begin to see the mercury dumps later on. So, you'll have to decide what you want to do-- do the challenge and still not really " know " or simply start a trial of chelation and see if your child progresses. Guest guest
Give my brother (compounding pharmacist) a call at Dermasave Labs, Pleasant Valley, NY. 845 635-4087. He ships with Rx [ ] DMPS Our doctor wants to do a challenge test to check for metals, and wants to use DMPS for the challenge. (She'll use DMSA if we need to chelate). We only need 500mg for the test. I'm a single mom and we have no insurance that will cover this. Does anyone know an economical way to get the DMPS? Our doc is willing to order it so that isn't a problem, I'm just looking for a way to get it without having to sell a kidney or something...*grin* Thanks in advance for any help! jodi ><}}}> =======================================================
