Guest guest
Hello everyone, my name is Mona and my son , age 5, was diagnosed ASD 2.5 yrs. ago. I turned to the internet because I had so little information from the pediatricians. After much research I decided to put on the diet. (Casein, Gluten). With in a few weeks I noticed a great deal of difference. No enzymes, he is now taking Super Nu Thera. had a reaction to the diet early on. Massive yeast die off. Diarrhea for 10 days, very, very bad smelly poop. His bowl movement has been good after that. He is finally starting to speak. we have a few issues left but overall great progress. Still very active and hyper. I suspect yeast might be an issue again. He is doing a few odd things. He is squinting his eyes sometimes and spinning objects. I think that we are ready for Chelation. I did see a DAN pediatrician early on, he is in Roseville, CA. Good doctor but I fear that he does understand certain issues even though he has a son whom is Autistic. Andy, I will call . I finally have the lab results from Great Plains, DDI hair Toxic Elements. Andy, what is the difference between " toxic elements " and " hair elements " from DDI ? I have the Toxic Elements report. Should I still post it ? Thank You, Mona
Guest guest
I am not Andy, but I reply anyway, as Andy doesn't seem to be able to spend much time with this list these days. As I understand it, the toxic hair test doesn't give you all the " essential and other elements " you need those to apply the counting rules for mercury. The toxic elements would tell you about all the other toxic metals providing there is no mercury messing up the mineral house hold in the body (which you either don't know as you can't do the counting rules or if mercury shows high in the toxic elements you only know that all the other results might not be reliable). I would still look at the toxic metals which are high and try to figure out potential sources of exposure and eliminate them. Dagmar. [ ] New to group also DDI Hair Analysis - Andy? Guest guest
> Thank You, I will order another hair elements. > Andy had mentioned something about ALA acid, avoid it in any amount, why? Alpha Lipoic Acid is a chelation agent, and like all chelation agents it is dangerous to use it if you don't give it " often enough " . (For ALA this is every 3 hours). That's why. There is also an " ALA " that is an essential fatty acid--- that is unrelated, and okay to eat or give to kids. (It is in oil.) > Here are the results for the toxic elements anyways, any comments? it is the " colors " and percentile that are usually used to tell what is " toxic " . It looks to me like all the metals listed are within the ref range except for uranium? I'm not sure I'm right about that. Anyway, I just look at the " colors " with red meaning " toxic " . good wishes, Moria > > > POTENTIALLY TOXIC ELEMENTS > element result ref range color > ============================================= > aluminum 7.6 < 22 > antimony .032 < 0.17 > arsenic < 0.01 < 0.2 > beryllium <0.01 < 0.05 > bismuth 0.016 < 0.5 > cadmium 0.018 < 0.7 > lead 0.35 < 4.0 > mercury 0.1 < 2.0 > platinum <0.003 < 0.01 > thallium 0.001 < 0.02 > thorium < 0.001 < 0.01 > uranium 0.24 < 0.2 95% > nickel 0.09 < 1.0 > silver 0.06 < 0.9 > tin 0.13 < 0.8 > titanium 0.77 < 2.0 > ESSENTIAL AND OTHER ELEMENTS > element result ref range color under/over 50% > ============================================================ > Calcium > Magnesium > Sodium > Potassium > Copper 14 < 30 under 68% > Zinc 210 < 270 78% > Manganese 0.13 < 1.0 > Chromium 0.43 <0.05 > Vanadium 0.79 < 0.3 over 95th% > > Molybdenum > Boron > Iodine > Lithium > Phosphorus > Selenium 0.56 < 2.7 > Strontium > Sulfur > Barium 2.9 < 3.2 91% > Cobalt 0.007 < 0.09 > Iron > Germanium 0.067 < 0.085 > Rubidium > Zirconium
