I guess I'm an older mom too (sigh). I have a 15 year old daughter, along

with my little autistic 8 year old. Sometimes the teenager is more difficult to

deal with!

Don't know what started this thread but thought I would chime in. I am

almost 48. Two grown, married natural children, 1 grandson, 4 adopted younger

children (13y/o, 9y/o with CP and LD, boy-girl twins 7y/o, boy with CAPD and

girl

with autism, etc.). Know I couldn't have done this family justice in my 20's

but boy I sure do get tired easier at this age.

I don't know either, but I'm 45 and have a 6-year-old.

Seems strange to say, but I guess I am an " older mom " too. I am 44

and the mother of a 2 year old dx with autism. Don't feel old, but

am looking it (having an autistic son doesn't help!)....Kim

Your not alone!I'll be 52 and have a 32, 25, and 8yr old(he's hfa)

boys.....also 1 grandaughter and another on the way! It is draining

physically to care for a child with disabilities at an older age but we are

also, smarter, wiser and sexier than when we were younger!HA<HA!!!

This is making me wonder (just thinking out loud here) if there is any

possible connection to being older when giving birth (? >35) and having an

autistic

child - or a child who is more sensitive to vaccine poisoning, etc.

Ok good idea but what are we looking for? In other words older and

wiser? (yeah, too late!!) older and more tired? (ME!!) or older when

giving birth? If so I know I am not the only adoptive parent on list

so this needs specified as well or age of birth mom mentioned if

known.

I think it makes us more likely to have amlagams and higher number of vaccine

ourselves prior to giving birth. The difference with Sam over his older

brothers was I had a filling replaced when was pregnant, a big fat amalgam no

less.............................as well as him being double male with his XYY

?? Maybe mom having more years to accumulate more toxins to pass on

to unborn child? Or perhaps change in hormonals causing circulating

toxins. Sometime back I read about menopause and lead and how the

change in the worman's hormones at that time caused more lead to be

leached out of the bones possibly causing some of the menopausal mood

problems. This had had me wondering about this and the historic

problems of older mom's having more chances of unhealthy babies.

Hi,

You can count me in, too. I am definitely an older mom who is

chelating her 19 year old formerly severely autistic, now autistic

son.

Perhaps there is, but I was 28 yrs old when I gave birth to my

daughter, second child. I wouldn't think of 28 as older, but perhaps

so. In fact, I had my last baby at 31, but she hasn't been

vaccinated at all.
