I think it was Jackire that responded to 's post about her

grandmother and I just wanted to say that even though the way her grandmother

told her she needed to lose more weight might have hurt her feelings at a young

age her grandmother was doing her more good than 's grandmother is doing

her. People think food is the answer to everything and it is usually the most

harmful thing they can give you especially if like most of us food is an

addiction. Being raised in a poor family and never having enough food when I

got older I ate everything I couldn't get as a kid and my husband and his father

indulged my every whim when I was pregnant. I went from being 118 pounds to 172

during my first pregnancy and then became pregnant again right away before

losing any of the weight and gained another 60 pounds with the second preganancy

due to them indulging my every whim for the second pregnancy. I was 232 after

the second baby. They thought they were being kind

to me and I ate it up but they as well as myself was actually dooming me to a

life of obesity.

I have yo yo dieted over the past twenty years and lost 100 pounds in

1986 and then in 1996 I lost 125 pound on the phen/fen diet just to gain all of

it plus more back each time. Then when I had to quit work(due to OA) in 2000 I

kept gaining until I hit 349. I am now giving up some of the things I know I

won't be able to have after the surgery and have lost 10lbs in the last 2 weeks.

Hopefully I can continue to give up other things and keep losing.

I have been to the Cardiologist, pulmonologist and psychologist and just

have to have my sleep study done nest Weds and then i will be ready to see the

surgeon again and get a surgery date set. I have to do the 2 week liver

shrinking diet before the surgery but hopefully I will get a date soon.
