Guest guest
6 years ago I thought I had a yeast infection and bought the over the counter meds. The real deal was I had BV. I had no clue what BV was, so I assumed it was yeast.I think it is our job to educated our daughters on the differences of these infections. Do not always assume you have a yeast infection instead of some other type of infection. Also the first gyn I went to said you have NO infection, so I went the the University of MN and their gyn diagnosed me with BV. I had it for 9 months! I took so many antibotics that I did develop a yeast problem! I had to change my diet and eliminate certain foods and sugar for the BV to go away just like the yeast.AOL now offers free email to everyone. Find out more about what's free from AOL at AOL.com. Guest guest
I had the same problem with my doc saying I had yeast when infact I had BV. The knew something was different than my typical yeast inf. The discharge was different and I had an oder, which is not something I have when I get yeast inf. I had to go back to my doc three times before getting the correct diagnosis. After that was when I started with my major V problems. I changed doctors after that experience. Guest guest
Hi Diane, I found through all of this that it is so important that you find a doctor that you can trust and count on. I think I have finally got to that point and when you "think" you have a yeast inf. make sure you go to the doc and get a "culture" (if the wet mount does not turn up anything). I think so many docs just treat something based on the symptoms and what they think it might be when infact we may be causing ourselves more damage than good by treating something that we do NOT even have. We just make our problem worse and harder to treat. Mindy>> nne,> I also think I got vulvodynia after treating a yeast infection with > creams for it. I wonder how many of us have similar stories.> I think I am getting one now, a year and a half later but I am trying > not to use anything for it but eating yogurt and taking acidophilus > etc. I'll go to the doctor if it gets worse. > Diane>

Guest guest
AND after PT I get this white clumpy discharge. I don't have it when I don't have PT, and I never had this before, which makes me think it is yeast that is deep inside. I know you said that this has only happened recently after PT, but is there any possibility that this discharge could be a reaction to whatever lubricant is being used for internal work? Has it been changed recently? Just a thought. Hollis
