Guest guest
As I make these, I can try and explain what they are....there are a lot out on the market, that have rice in them, which after so many uses, the rice withers inside and becomes stale and can mold....wheat, well wheat can cause a small fire if too dried out in the microwave,,,,and flax seed ones can explode. I use corn, shelled corn. Corn is larger than the others, so it holds heat longer, and you can use it for the following: Microwave It For! Backaches, Migraines, Stress, Bursitis, Insomnia, Sinusitis, Earaches, Cramps, Neck Pain, Colic, Muscle Pain, Flu Freeze It For! Heatstroke, Black Eye, Burns, Bruises, Tendonitis, Hives, Nose Bleeds, Swelling, Fever, Headaches, Toothaches, Sport Injuries, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Reuseable as a heat pad or ice pack and can be used over and over. GREAT for fibromyalgia, sore or tired muscles , relieves tension and stress, breast feeding moms, or if you have other conditions such as, arthritis, lupus, diabetes, thyroid problems, scleroderma, poor circulation, heart disease, carpal tunnel, chronic fatigue, bursitis, or you just need to warm up or cool down. Simple to use. Just place in your microwave for 1 to 3 minutes (depending on your wattage) and you are ready for about 45 minutes of soothing 120 degree heat for all kinds of pain. -- Re: just an update... damn the pain!-- and a question What are bed buddies? ~Jennie **************************************See AOL's top rated recipes (http://food.aol.com/top-rated-recipes?NCID=aoltop00030000000004)

Guest guest
Hi Lori ! Thanks for the warm welcome! My hubby went back to work Tuesday night, he is on graveyard shift, and we hate it...he normally worked the 2nd shift, but things turned around at work to where he is back on 3rd shift...but that works out ok. I am usually awake nights anyways cause of the pain, and fall asleep around 7 or 8 am and sleep for a few hours.... I go to the doc tomorrow...time for more high blood pressure meds, and to check on my other meds to see how they are working. Hello to all the other new members.... And I looked online and the other places to get shelled corn..... Feed mills, as I mentioned.... Seed stores..... Nurseries..... And farmers~ K. -- Re: just an update... damn the pain!-- and a question What are bed buddies? ~Jennie **************************************See AOL's top rated recipes (http://food.aol.com/top-rated-recipes?NCID=aoltop00030000000004)
Guest guest
HiJennie, Bed buddies are a kind of pouch made with a cotton/flannel or other covering and filled with flax seed, corn or rice or some other thing that holds heat and is flexible. They come in various sizes from quite small for your head, wrap arounds for your wrists or hands, wide ones for your shoulders and flat ones for your back, etc. You put them in the microwave and they retain heat for a pretty long time and you put them where you need them. Some people have a variety and snuggle with them in bed, particularly the flannel ones. They can also be made big, just to snuggle with, but then you don't get the advantage of the heat. I know lots of people who have them. I know they are available on line and I know a couple of people who make them. They are not very expensive and are worth the price. If you don't have allergies to scents, they are nice to spritz with lavender, for calming, and other scents right before you put them in the microwave. Of course spritzing with water provides the moist heat without the scent. I am allergic to the herb ones and to the flax seed and scented ones ( some come scented) for aromatherapy. But I love the corn ones. They really hold the heat and I'm not allergic to them. I can put you in touch with places to get them if you want or you can make your own if you are handy. I can't sew so I'm helpless in the making them department. Someone is making me a new corn one now that I hope to have soon. Take care, Marti jenniesattic@... wrote: What are bed buddies? ~Jennie **************************************See AOL's top rated recipes (http://food.aol.com/top-rated-recipes?NCID=aoltop00030000000004)

But, he lovingly tried to rub the area in hopes of helping to relieve the pain for me. Love and gentle hugs, Debi/So.
