" I have been making the pancakes with raw chicken. Nate was

rejectiong them with cooked chicken. Is this ok? "

,

As long as you are cooking them long enough to make sure that

the chicken is well cooked.

I just posted the other information because someone I spoke

with recently didn't realize that the mixture had to be blended

thoroughly until there are no chunks of chicken left and the batter

is very smooth.

I finally brought myself to try them (I’m sorry, but they sounded really

disgusting to me!!!). I make the combo veggie and chicken version and add

some legal spices (cinnamon et al) and my children are crazy about them. Go

figure. I have found that making them “silver dollar” size – about an inch

and a half in diameter helps cook them thoroughly and also makes flipping

them much easier. Also that’s a good snack size. Worked well for car

snacks today on an extended trip.

They also sounded pretty bad to me. However, I've been reading all

of the posts about sneaking veggies into unexpected places to get

more of a " bang per buck " , so to speak, from a dish.

My son loves scrambled eggs. Now he is having a little cooked

chicken, squash, carrot, etc. tossed in there and doesn't even

notice.

He is so on the mend. I find that reading here everyday keeps my

energy up. I was never a cook or a baker until SCD. I like seeing

that people have successfully done this for years.

Chicken pancakes are a great way to get protein into a child that

insists that all food must LOOK like bread.

If it tricks a kid into eating something healthy, then it's a great

recipe in my book. Just remember, you don't have to like it... you

just have to get your kid to eat it...LOL.

I mean, really, who else but desperate moms like us would try

so hard to get a non-desired food into a little kid?

Avocado meatloaf anyone?? LOL

:)
