Dee thanks for the information. You message states my story as

being almost identical except for the length of time. I kept having

yeast infections and finally cleared them up and then realized my

pain was something else. With no insurance which I got the first of

February I was able to have my first visit to a OB/GYN and it was

fantastic. She gave me Clobetasol Propionate Ointment for twice a

day and Vagifem estradiol vaginal tablets once a day. They worked.

After a couple of weeks I then forgot it and the burning of the

vulvar started again. It is like the fissures came back. I don't

have to be reminded but once and have not forgotten a dose since. I

have had the narrowing the vaginal with almost no opening due to sex

being so painful and almost nonexistent the last three years. I was

scared to use the Estrogen tablets because I did not want to get

another yeast infection and she assured me she has never had a

patient get a yeast infection with these tablets. With my

experience I told her she might have her first case but so far so

good. I had been going to a Homopathic doctor for my yeast infection

got it cleared up after being on diflucan for 5 months and diet. I

also quit sugar and flour in August and no artifical sugar at all.

I realized I have an allergy to wheat so I have been off wheat for a

couple of months. My diet choices were for the yeast not the VV,

although after eating wheat or corn I realized that in a couple of

hours I would have burning. So I will continue this treatment until

I return to the Dr. the end of March. I will printout your two

messages and start my file for info. Thanks again for your story.

HI Judy.. ;) Hon you are more than welcome believe me. ;)

It sounds like you are on a good regimen hon. Don't be afraid of the

Estrogen. It 'might' occasionally trigger a yeast infection but it's

truly not that common. Part of the secret is to make sure you use

just a small tiny peasize dab... Or enough to make a light film over

the affected area (and rim a bit inside the opening of the vestibule

(esp. that 6'o'clock area)... but the best tip is to be sure that you

gently massage of it in. (maybe to a slow count of 10)

So that it's not laying on the tissue, where yeast just loves that

dark damp moist area. :) So we try not to give it a breeding

ground. Just as a woman can get topical yeast infections under her

breasts if they're pendulous. so it can happen with or without

estrogen hon.

Whoops forgive me LOL I just realized you're inserting the Vagifem

and not using the Estrace topically. My mistake hon.. Oh well if it

were me? LOL I'd make sure when I wiped that I'd try to spread any

discharge sort of all over on top of the vulva. *grin*.. I wonder if

your doctor might give you even a sample of the Estrace cream to use

topically. That would be great but we have to use what we have. But

I'd sure ask next time.

That is unless you also need the Vagifem for menopausal reasons hon.

If not... just the topical alone can work wonders and it isn't

usually systemic that way..

Sure glad your diet has helped too hon... that's great and that you

know what bothers you. ;) Much success and hang in there. It takes

time but if it works what a miracle. ;) (not if but when *grin*)

Hugs

Dee~
