Your welcome Laurie. Sorry to hear you're having problems. What injection is he so interested in that he didn't take the time to listen to your concerns? Whatever kind it was, I'm sorry that it didn't for you. I was getting the lumbar nerve block shots and they didn't too much for me. They helped for a couple of hours with the burning and tingleing, but that was it. I started back to PT today, again, for the 5th time in 2 years. This time I'm going for all of my body except my rsd foot and ankle. I was told that it's done. There's nothing more that can be done for it. But the rest of my body is growing weak from being overused because of being on crutches this whole time, so I have to go to have it strenthened up. Also, I'm to do a few exercises to try to keep what little of the muscles I have left in my calf to that leg, which isn't much. So far it isn't very fun. I'm not looking forward to having to do this 3 times a week plus doing exercises that he gave me to do at home. I just wish I had some type of pain med or muscle relaxers to take before and/or after I go. That would help alot. But unfortunately, I'm not on any meds at this time. My docs are totally dumb when it comes to rsd and I don't think that they are too interested in learning about it. I've tried to find different drs in my area, but so I have been unsecessful in that area. I go see my fam dr on the 30th and I'm going to ask her if she knows of any around here that specialize in rsd. Maybe I'll get lucky. Anyway, didn't mean to go on the way I did. Guess I just had to get that out. Let me know how you're doing. More soft, gentle hugs coming your way, Faith

Faith >I know what you mean when they want do the exercises but not cover the pain that results. Makes me mad. I won't do it myself. They wanted to do desentization and I said no way. If they won't give me the drugs to cover the pain while there doing it no. I ain't guinny pig for them. >In ten years they will figure out that maybe we should do something about this situation. >My heart will be with you. >Soft hugs your way. >Laurie >

Hi Laurie. It's not so much that they won't give me something to cover the pain from the PT, it's that right now, I don't have any meds to take for this crap! The stuff that my drs had me on for it wasn't doing anything for me, so I quit taking them and so far they haven't given me anything else to take to see if it will work for me. I have been with no meds now for about 8 months. When I was first dx, they sent me for desentization and believe me, it was no picnic! The whilpool tub that they put my foot in first felt wonderful! But then they had to ruin it by trying to massage it. Not fun. Hurt like heck! I hope the ten years go by REAL fast! lol My heart is also with you and everyone else in the world who has to battle with this deamon everyday! Soft, gentle hugs to you my friend. Faith P.S. I'm still working on getting instuctions sent to teach you how to chat. Hopefully it won't be too much longer. Then we can chat when we are both awake through out the night.

> Im back in OT as well and she wants to start doing desensitization

with me, we started with the rubbing of a towel on my arm..that

really stunk! But once she stopped rubbing it didnt hurt anymore

which was ok I guess. I dont know what else she has planned but Im

hoping she will be kind lol.

Im not on any meds either except for tylenol extra strength, for

whatever reason he hasnt given me anything but nuerontin for this.

Most days I can handle it with taking the tylenol but the bad days

creep thru more often than they used to.

I dont have a clue what to ask for to keep this monster at bay. Pain

meds, or otherwise. Any suggestions?

Hugs

Donna

Donna,

There are many different pain meds out there than can help you with break through pain. Of course with all these meds, the dosages can be tailored for your specific needs. I would suggest that you inform your doctor that you are experiencing more pain at times and that the Tylenol isn't helping. I am sure that he will consider what would be best for you.

I am not much of one to like taking meds, don't care for all the side effects, but in the long run, the side effects are mild compared to the pain that I would have to endure if not on the meds. I know many aren't crazy about morphine, but for me it works great on the pain. Although I will say that I can't wait to get off of it....just a couple more days....optimistic aren't I!
