We live with my mother-in-law and since it is summer we aren't using any

heat. We don't have a/c. My husband likes to have the fan on, and I used to,

too, but now it makes my nose cold!

LOL! I can relate. I used to sleep in very little, had a fan running, and

would still be hot. Now, I sleep in long sleeve and pant pajamas and no fan is

allowed now. My husband is okay with that though because I always made him

cold before the surgery. Have you adjusted your thermostat?

I don't know if you watch South Park, but I imagine I will have to dress

like Kenny! Full on snowsuit with just my eyes exposed!

I have heard that a lot of people are cold all the time after surgery,

because our bodies kind of give up trying to regulate heat while we are eating

so

little. I'm not so cold during the day, but at night, it's a different story!

When I go to bed, even if I am warm at first, I soon get super cold! I now

wear socks, thermal underwear or pajama pants and a long sleeved shirt, and

My husband asked me if I wanted a ski hat, too. He was joking, but I was

thinking, " Hmmm, maybe not such a bad idea! " Even my nose gets cold!

I used to be burning hot all the time.In fact I remember one

Halloween night here that was 30 degrees & I was walking around in a

short sleeve t shirt still hot!!!Now my feet are always cold & I

have just started to wear sweatshirts for the 1st time in years. On

vacation at the beach,I was soo cold one night on the boardwalk,I

had to go buy a sweatshirt. So according to me,you are normal,LOL

Hi Dana,

I'm new to this group but I thought I would jump in since this was

one of this issues I had postop too. There were nights I was sooo

cold. I couldn't seem to get warm no matter how many layers of

clothing I wore. At the time I usually would use an electric blanket

and drink some hot tea but usually it only helped a little. The good

news is eventually as my body adjusted to all of the changes and my

weight stabilized, I stopped being supercold all the time.

As with many things after surgery, it might just pass on with a

little time. :)
