Guest guest
That's great, Arline. Yes, I've been reading too that silver was used for chronic bacterial infections like syphillis before penicillin was invented. But, I think the problem with taking it internally for some folks was a possibility of argyria...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argyria.... so, I don't think using silver in an ointment would run a risk of developing that disorder, would it? Lots of folks use it and have no problem I know. There's also something the folks on the lichen sclerosis list are saying is great and that's the Nutrabiotic ointment with Grapefruit Seed Extract. Anyone here tried that? Doesn't this definitly point to a bacterial, viral, fungal cause? Discussion of silver products, Tetrasil, Genisil A few weeks ago there was a discussion of silverproducts and whether or not it might be helpful forrelief in the genital area. I believed that it wouldbe and expressed the wish that I had a doc who wouldprescribe a certain prescription cream made fromsilver that I had used for a burn in the past. I don'thave a doc that has done that.We also discussed a product called Tetrasil which isan over the counter purchase and I mentioned that Iwould order it to see if it is helpful. As it turnedout, the same company I think makes a product for thegenital area call Genisil. I ordered that and haveused it and just as I suspected, it is very good andeffective for burning, irritation, etc.The internet is full of the articles about how silveris a scam. I am here to say that although Genisil isnew to me I have used other silver products and I knowthat it is a very valuable antibiotic, fungal killer, bacterial killer, and virus killer. It is a natural mineral and I think there is some lawthat it can't be patented by the pharmaceuticals orsomething. I suspect that is why it is not used more.Silver has been used for hundreds of years for anantibiotic.Since I said I would report to the results, I amtrying to do that. I don't have a serious problem butrecently had seemed to start having some pain in thevestibule area at time. Not wanting to have a fullfledged vestibule problem I chose to try to findsomething to help. It helps a lot!!It seem to be pretty expensive but well worth it in myopinion. Here is one URL where one can buy it but there areothers if you want to google.http://search.ebay.com/genisilArline__________________________________________________________We won't tell. Obviously, the Genisil is working well for you (that's great!), but you might want to check out the other one at some point: http://www.happyherbalist.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD & ProdID=195 Hollis

I don't think there is any possibility that any damage could be done unless one is allergic to silver, like can't wear silver jewelry. > > There's also something the folks on the lichen > sclerosis list are saying is great and that's the > Nutrabiotic ointment with Grapefruit Seed Extract. > Anyone here tried that?> Doesn't this definitly point to a bacterial, viral, > fungal cause? I didn't know there was a grapefruit seed extract ointment as it has been a long time since I was really looking for something to soothe but I think I used all the rest of the kinds of grapefruit seed products around that time. LOL (and everything else, too) When I was diagnosed with LIchen Sclerosis and had that problem, I knew that what I had, if it truly was the same thing as everybody else, was yeast caused. My vulvar and anal skin was so inundated with yeast and I think a result of an IgA immune reaction as a result of the cross reaction to gluten, it took quite awhile on Diflucan to make it disappear plus the gluten free diet. I was sure that yeast was a major part of my LS. I still believe that. The Genisil ointment is so very gentle and healing. Somehow putting grapefruit juice there doesn't appeal to me. LOL Hope something works, . Arline > > A few weeks ago there was a discussion of silver > products and whether or not it might be helpful > for > relief in the genital area. Guest guest
It is the silver which I think is the crucial thing and that seems to be a little blurred in the advertising--the supposed different kinds of silver. I am skeptical that it is really different but, as you say, whatever works Arline, I totally agree. From what i can gather, the one constant is the patented form of silver -- and the difference between the three (or four?) different versions is what added goodies they stick in. But i thought i'd point it out the "vaginal" form for you and anyone else who might be interested in looking into it. Thanks for the kind words. I'm currently in the process of trying to arrange some decent pelvic PT. Unfortunately, the one and only supposed pelvic PT in my area is just not all that experienced and i need to get creative and put together some other kind of program with other practitioners. While i'm figuring all of that out, i'm starting to be much more disciplined about poking and skin rolling myself from belly button to my knees. There are a LOT of sore trigger points all over the place and i have to say that performing self-torture actually does feel good. . . after the fact. Guest guest
Hey there, So i also recently bought tetrasil. How many times a day do you use it? I ended up getting the regular tetrasil but i'm wondering if something like genesil or femmesil would be better for me. Do you know the difference between them at all? It has helped with itching and irritation but it hasn't completely gone away. I just know i'm not clawing at myself at night anymore so that's good but i still have slight itching. It's not as severe. > > A few weeks ago there was a discussion of silver > products and whether or not it might be helpful for > relief in the genital area. Guest guest
Hi Starry, Sorry. I did respond but something happened. ;o) I don't think it really matters as I suspect they all have the same silver but if the additional ingredients don't cause irritation, that one is probably all right. I use it once a day but I see no reason why it can't be used more. We are just experimenting with this. Hope it helps you. Let us know.
