Well I talked to the dr's office today and was trying to re-schedule my

endoscopy. It's set for the 29th of this month at Norton Health Care in

Louisville KY. Anyway I want to try to move it up to next week due to my little

guy starting school. First time I called them (several weeks ago) they told me

that after my first visit with the surgeon it would be 6-8 wks after that

surgery would be set. So that put it between Sept 11 - Sept 25. I was getting

excited scared.. you know the routine. I frantically got all the pre-op tests

he wanted done and made sure to have all the reports faxed to him so that he

would have it all. Well when i called today I was re-asking for them to give me

a ball park " date " She said that after my endoscopy, then ill come back in 2

wks for the results of all my tests. Then it will take the surgeon 7-10 days to

write up all the orders/reports/whatever. So i said so then you guys will be

calling me for my surgery appointment? She said oh no honey then we send it to

insurance and they take generally about 6-8 wks to respond back to us. THEN we

will call you for your pre-surgery apt. UGH UGH UGH UGH UGH. That puts me now

having to wait till sometime in Nov. Nov 6-Nov 20 :( :( :( Here i was gearing

myself up for next month and it's going to be another 2 or so months!! I dont

know if I can wait another 2 months. I am miserable :(

I am at 320 last dr's visit and im only 5'3 " I just want to get this done and

over with so I can start losing and getting my life back.

Sorry for the Vent :(

Rhonda,

Hi, my name is Debbie and I live in Seymour, In. I

feel your pain. I called my ins last week and on Wed

they told me I was approved. I was so excited. Well. I

still haven't got the " official " letter to fax my Dr.

so they won't schedule me. Last week they were booking

surgeries for late Sept to early Oct. The office told

me today they are booking the end of Oct. I am

frustrated...I have approval but they won't schedule

until they have the letter. I asked the ins to fax a

copy of the approval letter, but they said they

couldn't do that because the report is computer

generate, whatever that means. The ins company said

they would send out another copy tomorrow, which means

I probably won't get that until next Wed. I know this

is just a bump in the road, but I am so afraid I won't

be able to control my blood sugars for that long.

Obviously, I have Diabetes, insulin and oral meds. My

blood sugars are much better, but I have had to cut

out almost all carbs to get it there. I still eat

vegetables, not starchy ones, and very little fruit,

but it has been difficult to get control. Diabetes is

the reason I am having surgery.

Hang in there and I will, too.

Debbie
