I am going to see a dietitian at the local university, the thing I fear

is they are going to do the American Diabetic thingy and have me eat 1

donut for breakfast sort of thing. I have known I cannot eat much

sweets or I feel weird. I think what you said has more validity. I am

really nervous about dietitians.

Just because someone tells you to eat a donut or any sweets, you don't have

to eat it. They will give you a food plan. You work with the food plan to

find out what you can and cannot eat. Some people follow the Atkins diet, but

they modify it, some follow the ADA diet, but again they modify it. That is

the reason for testing. You eat a food, then test to see how it affects

your bg's. Once you start testing, you are going to find it is much easier to

understand diabetes and how to control it.
