Guest guest
Sara- Yes, it is hugely painful! I am on week 3 now and the rash is pretty much scabbed over. But now it itches and I can't scratch it because it hurts too much. Ugh! Yes, it is on my torso - thank GOD. I was lamenting the fact that I got it at all, but now am just thankful that it's not on my face! I began taking the antiviral meds within 24 hours of the first spot appearing, so I anticipate an easier recovery....the doc said if you catch it early it will lessen the severity and time of the outbreak and you are less likely to get shingles again. It also keeps you from getting post-therapeutic neuralgia (when the pain continues after the outbreak ends; some people have it for years!) Thanks for your kind words. Hope you are well.
