Ellen,

This is extremely interesting. It's encouraging to know that AA

members are also snapping at the heels of the cartel. Also

interesting is that Buddy T's name pops up again.

Fundamentally, the 12 steps are what makes AA a misdirected,

repressive, inaccurate religious cult that harms people.

AA cannot be reformed, nor should it be.

AA and the 12 steps should be thoroughly repudiated.

As a long time member of the list, I am concerned about posts which

1) link to AA sites and 12 -step sites, and 2) suggest that somehow

AA is capable of reform by inplication -- That there are people

working from " the inside " who are not all bad.

In some ways, people who have the sense to see the double talk and BS

should be able to go the distance and see the whole pack of Lies.

This kind of qualified-Dishonesty is almost worse than the blind

obedience of the fundamentalist.

12 step free to me means an absence of 12 step stuff.

Anything pro-AA is unwelcome and inappropriate.

,

I don't think I was being pro AA. I've been on this list for a while

also and no one has ever accused me of that. Would you care to

explain further?

Hi Ellen

As one acused of anti-American prejudice recently, I am amused that

this site says that in Europe the BB sells for $45 " which is a week's

work for them " . We might not be as rich as many Americans, but we

aint that ****ing poor. Sheesh!

When I bought one it was abt £8 - very reasonable for a hardback. I

can only presume this is for some new Easter European translations,

where the print run is stil small. anyone confirm?

Gee, quite a bit of hostility towards anything perceived as a

threat to the party line.

Sounds a lot like stepper gurus going off on somebody who dares

to talk about " outside issues " at an XA meeting.

Of course, the XA gurus' sole claim to fame is that they've been

members of a group for a long time, too.

i respectively disagree. i thnk its imprtant for people tp sahre what

they discover on pro AA sites, its i prtant to be aware of scope of

the problem and methodolgy imployed. know thy enemy. as for the

implication that aa is capable of reform, i personal dont think it

is,

but if other suggest that it may so what? by such a suggestion they

acknowldge that there is a problem to be fixed do they not? if the

probelms which in AA could be addrssed and changed wouldnt that be

possiable solution? if i lived to be 1000 i doubt i would see

substantial change in AA,but i cnat rule out that it could ahppen

ethier.

12-step free means as far as i concerned and have witnessed in last 2

years that know one here will be subjected to being told that the

steps are a awnser for anything they are struggling with and that we

shall be free to discuss the mechanisms of 12-step cults without

having to be ruled by it.
