Guest guest
Sorry for the delay Barb, I missed this one somehow - here's the full details of the refs... 'L-carnitine Supplementation in Childhood Epilepsy : Current Perspectives' ; De Vivo et al ; Epilepsia 39 (11) : 1216-1225, 1998. I tried to search on-line to get my own copy to save on disc, but I haven't been able to get to the full article, the one (hard copy) I am reading here is copied from our neuro's Journal of Child Neurology. I have seen summaries of this one before though when just plugging in search words like 'carnitine/depakote/diet etc' but have never actually had the whole thing to read before now. Reading through it again, it makes me think that when any carn def symptoms at all show, (slow growth, fat storage, weakness, excercise intolerance, trouble maintaining high ketones, and er seizures), it pays to hike up the doses to a max, especially when on a dep/diet combination. If you have no more luck than me accessing the full article online, let me know, and I'll ask hubby to try and scan this one - I myself have NO idea how to scan, and our scanner is temperamental thing, but it might be worth a go, ----- Original Message ----- > , would you be able to scan or email the journal copy?
