Laverne and Shirley and my mother

From the moment I heard this line from Laverne & Shirley when I was 11, it has

stayed with me all these years...Shirley says to her mother, " I know you love

me, Mom; the trouble is, you don't LIKE me. And when you don't like me, it's

very hard for me to like you. "

I remember being in school the day after that episode aired and telling my

friends, " you know, I love my mother, but I don't like her. "

It's funny how that episode articulated what I was unable to say or what I

wasn't really seeing at the time. It really struck a nerve.

I bring it up b/c I found it on YouTube. Sigh. Brought back a lot of memories.
