Guest guest
Hi all!! Am looking for anyone who has only one kidney who is/has been pg. I am currently 21w2d, and have been having blood pressure trouble since about 18w. I was put on modified bedrest (am allowed up 8 hours a day and the other 16 hours I have to lay on my side). The dr said that the high BP is a result of fluid retention....that my one kidney is not able to keep up with the extra fluids. This past week I have had ALOT of retention, mostly in my hands and feet. My feet have swollen up that it actually hurts to stand on them because the skin is so tight. Anyhoo, I have only been up and around 2-3 hours a day, at most, for the past week trying to take care of the wtaer retention. My question is this: What else can I do to help this situation?? I am afraid of being put on complete bedrest and having it not be enough to keep the fluid retention down. I was put on BP meds to help with that, but I know that if the fluid retention isn't taken care of, it will just make matters worse. What do they do if complete bedrest doesn't do the trick?? Wehave come so far in this pg, and I am scared to death of having something happen as a result of the BP. I have been trying to find info on PIH and renal abnormalities, but can't seem to find anything. Has anyone had any experience with this?? I would love to get any info that I can! Thanks all! a 21w2d 4 angels UU
