Actually, it is just regular plastic wrap like Saran Wrap. I am the

one who posted the recipe. It is from ZOOM kids (PBS show).

They demonstrated making it on TV and the plastic wrap did not

melt.

Using the plastic wrap may not be the best thing if it leaches into

the food. I'm not sure what could be used instead.

When I have time, I'll experiment and see.

I know that fruit leather can be made in a dehydrator as well.

Hi ,

Before I had a dehydrator I made this type of recipe in the oven.

I put large circles of smooth homemade applesauce (I pureed it in

the blender) onto parchment paper and dried it in the oven. When it

was finished I rolled them up, wrapped it in plastic wrap and stored

them in the freezer -so my kids wouldn't eat them all at once :)
