Guest guest
Hay there Margaret, Welcome to the list. How are you doing? I saw 2 people this today that were at the pre op meeting you attended and they were asking about you. Will you be at the meeting tomorrow night? Guest guest
Hi (umm...who is this?) LOL! I get numbness/pain a lot now, I blame it on losing my " insulation " ...less cushion, but run it by your Dr.. Dawn numbness Finally, I have figured out how to convert my e-mail and join in this group! A friend already asked this for me, but I could use more feed back! I am 4 weeks post-op and experience numbness in my left thigh when I lie on it. If I lie for long I wake in excruciating pain. This happens a bit on my left side, but not too badly. Sometimews I sort of feel this as I move around but usually when I sit or lie down. When I lie down is when it is most bothersome. It feels like i Have some nerve damage. Has anyone else had this? Is it temporary? It is something I can live with, but I would rather not. Any suggestions? I have my one month check tomorrow and will ask the Dr. about it. Guest guest
I asked the Dr. about the thigh numbness. He told me that 10% of people get it. Of the 10%, 90% clear up. It has some long medICAL NAME. I THINK IT IS INTERESATING THAT SO MANY HAVE COMMENTED ON THE BACK THING TOO, maybe it is related. Guest guest
Hello: I have had no problems with numbness but a friend of mine (a new friend since WLS) has had a problem with her right leg. The Dr. said it was some type of neuropathy and it's anyone's guess how long it will last. I guess it's a fairly rare complication of the surgery and they don't really understand why it happens. I don't think her Dr. (Reines) expects it to be permanent. Hope this helps a little. Lois
