Hello, just thought I would pop in again to say that I hope everyone

is doing well and to let you know that I am now at 16 weeks and

everything is going well so far. I heard the baby's heart beat today

(138 bpm) and will have an ultrasound next visit (at 20 weeks) and

should be able to tell if it is a boy or girl. The baby isdefinitely

in the left uterus (my first pregnancy was in the right), so that is

still kind of bothersome, but so far so good.

I declined to have the triple screen test done today. I figured that

since I am not willing to have an amnio (scared of that 1 in 200

chance of miscarriage from the procedure), that there would be no

point. I mean, if it came back positive, then they would want me to

do an amnio...but, there are TONS of false positives, right? And,

what if it was a false positive and my baby was really fine though.

And say I DID have an amnio and risked the life of a healthy baby?

And, then, there is the other side. What if the baby really DID have

some sort of defect? Would I really even CONSIDER terminating the

pregnancy at this point...no.

So, I guess in writing this, I have really made it even clearer to

myself! haha But, still, I am interested in what everyone else

thinks. Has anyone opted to have it and had an amnio? or have you

opted to not have it at all, like me? Just curious. The only reason

I almost DID do it was in hopes that it would come back negative and

it would sort of be a relief for the rest of the pregnancy.

Anyway, enough about that. I look forward to hearing some of your

opinions on this.
